I did figure we'd sell or trade him this year, since I went out and bought his jersey. I figured Rooney would try to bring him in
I think it's a fair opening salvo. The problem is Durkin already being on loan and our uncertainty at RB. It's probably not worth the hassle that'll be caused by having to fill the Canouse-shaped hole in our roster, at least not for any reasonable amount that Dresden would be willing or able to pay. They are desperate, though.
The up and coming Austrian is more likely to start a winning streak the Modric. There is little for Luka to work with.

That's a hell of a strike rate in any league, and that he has national team experience is only a good thing.
See this kid is 20 with potential, one cannot be a deck chair at 20. Lol Add his strike rate and no he is not a deck chair IMHO.
I looked back at some old articles, and it looks like he got his green card back in the day with DC United, but never got US citizenship. Hopefully, he's taken the steps needed to maintain his green card during the time he was living/working abroad.
It seems too far fetched to me, but he's better than Rooney IMHO and plays a style where age (and mileage) won't limit his game as it would others. I for one would rather pay to see DCU with Modric than with Rooney.
Given that we have only a single forward on our roster now I would welcome Eric Sorga with open arms. He seems to be just the kind on young talent we should be trying to secure. As for Modric, I only saw him play at the last World Cup and he was fantastic. Yes, he's two years older than Rooney, but he wouldn't be on Real's roster if he was immobile. Unfortunately, I don't think we can afford him and probably couldn't beat out Atlanta and Miami for his services (allegedly they are after him as well).
