I shouldnt have quoted you. My comment stands by itself. Hyndman lack of look with the USMNT is just another example of Berhalter having biases for and against certain players. I suspect Hyndman will have a big season this year... probably the best American midfielder in the league. I am wondering if they will push him deeper to replace Nagbe. Hyndman would play the role very differently, but at least as effectively.

I have no opinion on Hyndman or his contract. You like him more than I do but i wish him much success going forward

Was just replying to the poster using the more than 1 goal a game average. The one who doesn't understand that Steffen wasn't getting a worm permit in the summer

    Context matters as well.

understood... I shouldn't have quoted you. I chose not quote others as I am tired fans who seem to take pleasure in Americans failing abroad.

My view of Hyndman's ceiling has dropped a lot over the last couple of years. I think he could be useful filler for the usmnt in the short term and depth down the road. He is an obvious choice for Berhalters ridiculous "system".

Understood. My post was nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek reply to @IndividualEleven

atlanta moved nagbe and clearly dont want to pay what its going to take to keep gressel so i dont know why people are still acting like hyndman is a bench player. de boer seems to want different things than tata did and that seems to be much less emphasis on south american players.

hyndman performed a hell of a lot closer to his salary (300 and something last year i think?) than pity did his.

also, stop using the last year of his contact number like its his base from last year, this year, and the next, and the next. at that time if hes not worth the 900k he will finally be making whine about it then. hes a hell of a lot better value than some of their guys, even IF youre going to be so disingenuous to act like hes on a mil per year already...

It says a lot about those people. Hyndman basically started 2/3 of all the games he was with Atlanta. He started 10 of 15 regular season games and went 90 mins in all of thr last 7.

For $900 million a year in salary, Emerson Hyndman is reasonably assessed as possibly over-hyped.

I agree that MLS is better than Austria generally but why does Austria do much better than MLS in developing talent that major leagues teams want?

The Austria B1's being part of UEFA likely helps immensely to get players in the shop window. Most of the players having EU-nation passports also likley helps to facilitate movment.

Busio is a talented young player who looks set to have a breakout '20 MLS season, if he stays in the league. The FCD kids crushed him twice, but Busio has the EU-nation passport and heavy Serie A interest. Luckily for Cannon, his National Team caps would facilitate a move to England to consummate the EPL and C'ship. Servania and Ferreira's options are more limited.

I wonder if he's just miscast. He reported looked good under Benitez, the guy who wanted him.

Almiron was a difference maker, today, which marks the first time he was played centrally.

??? He was a winger on the right. Andy Carroll was central.

Are you kidding with this? Berhalter is a terrible coach but Hyndman sucks. His lack of looks for the NT is down to him not being very good.

Hyndman can become a very effective player for Atlanta while still not being good enough for the US.

agreed. He’s not good enough to be a starter for Atlanta... at least not good enough if they want to be a title contender.

Sure, why not? Every good time needs role players.
