Come on folks, be better than floating crazy statements like you know Evansville is a done deal but you actually have no idea and can’t reveal a name because you don’t know.
Evansville is complete and will announce this week. I have no problem posting a truthful comment to posters while protecting someone's name. It allows a school's internal process to be complete while not dragging out other names that aren't getting the job. Change your name to 'Dontknowaboutcoachjobs'
Be better than pretending to know something then hide behind ‘protecting someone’s name’ on an anonymous forum people! And as stated by several people on this site Miller was in the discussion at Robert Morris. Couple of coaches down at the DA event this past week close to that area were also discussing that program and how Miller had a conversation with the AD about the position.
The new AD at RM and probably most schools going through a complete process would have talked to or tried to reach out to a vast number of candidates before narrowing things down. Specifically at RM only 3 people are known to have been brought on campus last week and Miller was not one of them. You would think that an announcement would be coming soon with dead period now for in person visits in effect now until Jan 5th.
I think Cantcoach is following your lead. Just for everyone else’s knowledge on here LMU will be announcing a coach here sometime soon. I can confirm Greg Miller was never spoken to about the position but it will be a done deal someone other that Greg gets it. I’ve been about as informational as Germans4Allies4 correct?
So what is the magic date, if there is such a thing, that a coach is likely safe going into next year?
Some AD's won't fire a coach until Christmas break. Some AD's like to do it when the students are off campus. I think a coach is safe if they make it to February.
Several quality people in for LIU position, 2 present asst coaches. Miami asst Kentucky asst LMU asst Northeastern asst
Any news on GCU or Pacific front runners? Charleston Southern just going to promote their associate head coach?
Just for confirmation purposes https://lmulions.com/news/2019/12/1...pian-jenny-bindon-selected-to-lead-lions.aspx
Got to think this is a good hire. Knows the area, the recruiting, the level. Plus she’s getting out of UCLA before Cromwell gets fired for the admissions scandal. Well done LMU.
Cromwell isn’t being fired. She had nothing to do with it by all accounts (UCLA and Feds). Be a bigger man for Pete’s sake.
Have heard from multiple people that she is leaving for the Seattle Reign and that she did not take money so there will be no legal actions, however she was aware (obviously) that a person on her roster was not a soccer player. Would think if this is going to happen it would be very soon as NWSL draft is in a month.
I have heard Kevin Boyd and Matt Potter both have spoke to GCU. Both have ties to AZ and a big enough "splash" hire for GCU to hang their hats.
heard Louisville MAY be opening up. Heard Karen Ferguson was offered the NWSL job in Louisville and is considering it. Anyone hearing anything else on who may take the Louisville NWSL job?
It is alarming that UCLA has clammed up about this scandal. The men's coach was involved--but lots of questions remain and have not been answered by the university or the athletic department.
Do people realize NWSL coaching jobs pay significantly less than top college jobs? I did hear that Cromwell is trying to move on as things are quite uncomfortable for her at UCLA. Reign job pays less than 6 figures so she will be making less than half of what she is making, but maybe she doesn’t mind
It's not really that alarming. There are a lot of unanswered questions and that is also why there has not been a lot forthcoming from UCLA. Legal counsel, no doubt, is dictating what is being made known and what they feel can be made known. There are still a lot of loose ends from a legal standpoint and UCLA needs to watch what is said in order to limit exposure.
Olympique Lyonnais is currently in negotiations to buy a majority share of the the Seattle Reign. If reports can be believed, it's pretty much a done deal; all that's left is crossing the t's and dotting the i's. Toss in the fact that Lyon's owner has a reputation for tossing around money like a drunken sailor...Coach Cromwell might end up doing pretty well for herself.
Cromwell to Seattle Reign a strong possibility as mentioned. Her other assistant would then join Jenny Bindon at LMU. Pacific should have a decision coming in the next few days.
