I hope Yedlin is back... he makes Newcastle far more interesting to watch... not because he is all-world or anything.... just that he plays for the USMNT.

 

Yedlin not in the squad. Manquillo, in his place, gets the assist on the goal.

 

I may be one of the few on this board who rates Manquillo better than Yedlin. Manquillo is a lot more of a real footballer who can play with his teammates. Luckily for Yedlin, I am not the gaffer.

 

I definitely don't agree with you... but he has the assist for the lone goal today... so I wouldn't be surprised to see Yedlin on the bench again this weekend.... Manquillo was not good in Yedlin's absence last season. Perhaps he has grown into the role? Who knows?... But he was pretty poor in my estimation last season.

 

I thought Manguillo was not good early last season. When he came in towards the latter part of last season when Yedlin got injured, I thought he was better than Yedlin (on average).
