I mentioned about Oklahoma. Was first told Ryan from Rutgers in, but apparently it’s not a done deal as Amato from Arizona is also considered. Oregon going after Nakada from Stanford hard from what I’m hearing. UW supposedly made a decision?
The Washington State coach to oklahoma? What, are they offering him a boatload of money? Otherwise, makes no sense--and I'm not sure it makes sense even if the pay is better. Not to mention the fact that Wa. State should be good again next year.
Schulenberger does have an extension through to 2024: https://wsucougars.com/news/2018/12/21/womens-soccer-shulenberger-signs-contract-extension.aspx But that doesn't mean he will stay if someone can come in and poach him away for a better opportunity. And have to think people are knocking after a College Cup appearance. My question is why in the hell is Washington not pursuing him?! He just took a team from Pullman to the Final Four. Got to think with the pull of Seattle he could do that there. Obviously knows the Pac-12 already.
WSU had Potter before he went to Oklahoma, and Potter did well at WSU, beginning the building process that McAlpine countinued and Schulenberger has built on further. Given how difficult Potter found it in Oklahoma, it may not be that attractive to someone coming from a good Power 5 program.
Hearing Greg Miller (ex-Pitt) NOT in mix for RMU. Appearing to narrow down focus to a current D1 assistant, a different ex-D1 HC and a current D2 HC. Expecting a decision in short time frame to get things moving forward.
Heard the opposite that Miller is or has been in the run. Plus the usual bs ‘current assistant’ or ‘current d2 coach’ holds no weight unless you have actual specific information. Give some actual information.
Marsha Harper (current UMass-Amherst asst coach), Christopher Shaw (most recently HC at UNLV) and Erik Burstein (current HC of Kutztown U)
I like Erik. Think that may be a great hire. I was surprised that Shaw at UNLV was fired but down at the DA event this week turns out there were some extremely inappropriate things he did and was a total dick to his kids. I’m surprised Miller didn’t get on campus as my understanding was they were fairly high on him. But I also don’t think he deserves another shot as a Division one head coach based on his actions at Pitt.
I don’t know her as a coach. Met her briefly recruiting at regionals and a couple other events sitting with other coaches and she seems great but no real insight.
heard miller was in the running until the RM AD reached out to some of the local club coaches and directors. they didn't have a lot of great things to say about Miller and that changed the AD's mind
If that is the case then Shaw in final mix might be a headscratcher based on what people are saying about how his UNLV departure went down.
I’m surprised Craig Roberts hasn’t been in for any of these mid major jobs I would guess he’s trying to get back in after leaving Ball State. Does anyone know what actually happened at UNLV? Shaw was known for being a shady guy but wondering what finally caught up with him.
Roberts is interviewing at Evansville. Have only heard positive things regarding Shaw and have only had a couple interactions with him.
All completely false. Robert Morris did not reach out to any club people whatsoever about Miller and he was never in play. Shaw chat has no truth at all. Evansville is done. Come on folks, be better than this before you float crazy guesses to see what sticks.
Colgate still holding on campus interviews this week including a current head coach or two apparently. So probably looking at 3-4 candidates at this point and not just 2. Looking to decide and move ahead before the holidays.
