Well this guy came a bit out of nowhere. When is the next opportunity to call him up to see where his allegiance lies?
I don’t understand too much Spanish but the UDN announcer clearly and loudly with annunciation said Berrrrrhalter once during the broadcast.
glad you enjoyed. acting like we don’t have really weird criteria for who can be called up and who can’t seems silly, but probably a convo for a different thread
I would still like to know where he was actually born, if the US when he moved, and what are the background of his parents. Never got a response to my earlier question.
Born in Brooklyn, NYC; Nigerian background. He used to have a YouTube channel and if my memory is correct he said he moved to England at about age 10, but I don't think the video exists anymore. I don't think his case is like Siebatcheu or Balogun who were born in the US but have no real memories there.
Thanks. I thought it was more he was born in the US but moved shortly afterward. And maybe didn't have an American parent. So yeah, it would have been analogous to the situations of the players you mentioned. It's more like Boyd. That makes me more optimistic about our prospects with him and the performance we'd get if/when he committed. Also, when it comes to his professional success, we can take pride in the fact that his early development would have taken place here. Today it was kind of circumstantial he played and a solitary, brief appearance. But he's been around the 1st team so far. So hopefully: it's the start of integration from the academy for one of our players in the upper English Leagues for a change, and that he proves up for the challenge.
Like Boyd, Nebiyou Perry is another good comparison. Born in NY and does have some memories there. Federico Oliva from Chicago, too. They moved to Sweden and Spain at about age 8-10 or so, so not as infants without memory. Outside of soccer, Otasowie is currently a professional model for Burberry (no joke at all), and he also used to do child modeling in New York. It seems to be his main passion outside of soccer. At least one link from his child modeling in NY is still up on Google from when he was about age 6-7. Not that I have any interest in modeling but to the best of my knowledge he did grow up some in the US.
I like to think I follow this stuff pretty closely and this is pretty much the first I've heard of him and now my future happiness pretty much depends on him choosing to play for the US.
His header that hit the cross bar was pretty nice and he closed down on a player driving towards the box for a nice block... but other than that... not much to see. He looks much larger than most of the other players and when he actually stops jogging and turning on his speed you can see why he is garnering interest from other top clubs. Color me intrigued.
It's a Europa League group stage match. That's more better than a debut in the Allsvenskan or Bosnian Premier League.
This is right about the time I expect @Suyuntuy to come out of his hole and tell us that the English Wolves fans don't think much of him.
He's quite a lanky fellow. Still has a bit of a puppy dog vibe to him but he could be a real beast once he grows into that body. I'd peg him as a future centerback for us. A girl can dream. It will be interesting to see if he makes the squad for the weekend. Maybe get some more PT over the Christmas congestion.
