I am sure Fox will be screaming and condemning antisemitism this morning.. “President Trump told a conference of American Jews Saturday night that he did not have to worry about getting their votes, because they would cast ballots with business interests in mind,” the Times of Israel reports. “The comments, made during a speech to the Israeli American council, were quickly derided as anti-Semitic.” Said Trump: “You have to vote for me, you have no choice. You’re not going to vote for Pocahontas, I can tell you that.” He added: “You’re not going to vote for the wealth tax. Let’s take 100 percent of your wealth away. No, no. Even if you don’t like me — and some of you don’t, some of you I don’t like at all actually — and you’re going to be my biggest supporters because you’ll be out of business in about 15 minutes.
But Ivanka's a Jew! Two things in this pic. #1 - Shelly's still kicking. #2 - how fast did Trump fling that menorah in the trash after he left the stage?
Priorities: So let me get this straight: we can afford a $1.9T tax cut for the wealthy and corporations, but can’t afford $5.5B to make sure 700,000 Americans on SNAP don’t go hungry.— Robert Reich (@RBReich) December 8, 2019 Off course the faithful believe in trickledown and despise all moochers that are not them.
The sad thing is, Trump won't lose a vote by taking food away from children. Anybody who would care had already planned to vote for the Dem nominee.
I'm having a bit of trouble sifting thru this word salad, so please define "caring", if you don't mind. Or something. Yay!
Just a few points. 1. The Kuklos Adelphon->Ku Klux Klan matter. I have NEVER heard that there's a connection. One explanation is that a historian found some documentation in the years since I wrote my thesis. More likely is that it was just a coincidence. At the time, a college education, or really advanced pre-college (don't know if you can call it high school) meant learning Greek, and using Greek marked a man as elite. That's why I think it's just a coincidence, two completely separate attempts to be "cool" by referencing Greek, and mentioning it is a distraction and misleading. 2. Yes, the KKK started in Pulaski. Harriott leaves out that it started as a benign group, like the Masons or Elks Lodge. It was VERY quickly hijacked by reactionary, violent men. But it didn't start that way. 3. His recounting of the 1900s is off. A. Super short version of the end of Reconstruction would go like this. At different times between the late 1860s and 1876/7, white Democrats regained control in the various Southern states, usually through violence, voter intimidation, and cheating. In 1876/7 the GOPs traded the rights of black Southerners for the presidency and sealed the deal. But at the time, Southern states didn't change any laws. B. Farmers started getting hammered in the 1880s. The Populist movement began. In the South, the Populists were able to create a coalition between black voters and poor white farmers. That coalition had real political success. That led to panic among white elites, and they worked to cleave that coalition. They weaponized rape panic and racism and regained power. THAT is when they passed Jim Crow laws. C. The actions Harriott talks about in the 1900s were NOT part of the campaign. The campaign was over and the white supremacists had won. Those actions were a sort of victory lap/codification of white supremacy.
To say they were benign... well, let’s just say they didn’t start off as terrorists, but as bullies of black people. That’s very different from being benign.
What I mean is that the first group was indistinguishable from the Moose Lodge. At first. It wasn’t founded as a reactionary terrorist force.
Christopher Wray is choosing his side now. He's not getting caught up with Trump and Barr and going to jail for them. Like the other fools who think Trump will pardon them........ FBI Director Christopher Wray — who was installed in his position after President Donald Trump fired James Comey, the event that launched Robert Mueller’s investigation — sharply broke with the White House and Attorney General Bill Barr on Monday over the new inspector general report. Michael Horowitz, the IG for the Department of Justice, released the conclusions of his investigation into the opening of the 2016 investigation of the Trump campaign and its ties to Russia, which eventually became the Mueller probe. Horowitz found many errors and questionable decisions by people working on the case, but he fundamentally determined that it was adequately predicated and that it was not started based on political motivations or because of bias. And other stuff! Like the FBI plot against Trump. https://www.rawstory.com/2019/12/tr...new-fissures-erupt-in-the-justice-department/
So Ivanka is the Trump family member who was personal friends with Christopher Steele Steele had no axe to grind with the Trumps. BREAKING: ABC News can confirm that the Trump “family member” referenced in the Inspector General report who had a friendship with dossier author Chris Steele, was Ivanka. She met him in 2007 at a dinner in London when he was still working for MI6. https://t.co/W64i5GPqVK— Julia Macfarlane (@juliamacfarlane) December 9, 2019
Politico has a schadenfreudelicious article about a grifter who has attached herself to Giuliani. https://www.politico.com/news/2019/12/10/christianne-allen-giuliani-079762 I wonder why he found her so appealing?
In an interview, he described his daughter as a relentless self-advocate who, at the age of 14, once called the president of Harvard University to ask for advice on how to get into the school and ended up speaking with her for 10 minutes before being referred to the admissions office. (A person familiar with the matter said Harvard has no records of the call and that the former president, Drew Gilpin Faust, also had no recollection of it.) This would not happen at the run-of-the-mill regional liberal arts college where my wife works. No way she got through to Drew Gilpin Faust or that Faust would waste ten minutes of her day on such a thing. So, she's a self-aggandizing liar. Where else would she work?
GOP is the big tent party: Corrupts, Criminals, Grifters, Misogynist, Racists and Xenophobes are all welcome: https://www.nydailynews.com/news/na...0191209-dwbvxi6bfjhgpaawbgxb2ocsf4-story.html A MAGA-movement Congressional candidate known for his failed attempts to unseat Maxine Waters was arrested Sunday for allegedly stalking his ex-girlfriend. Republican Omar Navarro, 30, was picked up around 2 a.m. in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood and booked on suspicion of violating a restraining order, extortion, stalking and criminal threats, police confirmed to the Daily News. The ex-girlfriend, conservative commentator DeAnna Lorraine Tesoriero, told The News she called the cops on Navarro after he threatened her life in a series of messages and was spotted pacing outside her window wearing a black hoodie. She claimed Navarro has continued to send her disturbing messages after he posted bail and was released from custody. Phantom Zone Voters claim that looks exactly like a normal person would do in MAGAverse or Leftyverse.
They are idiotically stupid....or perhaps not? In reading comments left on various social media forums, one often sees Republican politicians described as “stupid”, “clownish”, “ignorant”, “spineless”, “cowards”, “gutless” and the like. We see them ridiculed for believing in conspiracy theories and for believing Trump’s breathtaking lies. To this I say: get real. Yes, a great many Republican officials do deserve the descriptions above. Louie Gohmert in particular is one of the most wretchedly idiotic adults of whom I have ever heard. But let’s cut through all of the idiocy and nonsense he and other Republicans spout. They KNOW they’re lying. They know Trump is lying. They do NOT believe the idiotic conspiracy nonsense they babble about. They are FULLY AWARE of what they are doing. They simply don’t care. Whatever it takes for them to win, they will do. They will gleefully feed the hatreds, fears, and irrational beliefs of the Republican base. They will feed the base non-stop bullshit 24/7, if that’s what it takes to get these people to vote against their own interests, even against their own children’s futures. They are enthusiastically FOR Trump and the horrible Republican programs that are so destructive and harmful to the American people. They may not like Trump as a person, and may in fact despise him. But they love Trump’s racism, his hatred of “uppity” women, the way Trump shovels money into the pockets of the rich, the wildly unqualified right-wing nutjobs Trump is putting on the Federal bench, and the way Trump grinds the faces of the poor and sick into the ground. They get off on it, as a matter of fact. They are not stupid. They are not “spineless” in bending to Trump’s will. They share that will. https://www.dailykos.com/story/2019...ineless-They-re-Evil-Let-s-Keep-That-Straight
Speaking of the inspector general, Horowitz. Remember back in 2016, when the NY office of the FBI was leaking like a sieve against Hillary? He was asked how that investigation is going. He's still on the case! He'll get a breakthrough any day now! Oh, wait, whom am I kidding. He ain't doing shit because Trump will fire him.
