I didn't just see that. Veracruz saved all their subs until stoppage time, when they brought on a couple guys to fortify the d and bleed clock for a 0-0 draw at home against a mid table side. What a wi(e)nner.

Sebastian Saucedo is training with the Monarchs. He's home for a few weeks and staying fit during Liga MX break, per RSL communications.— Chris Kamrani (@chriskamrani) May 17, 2016

Played the second half today as Veracruz was beaten 5-0 by FC Juarez in Copa MX. Alonso Hernandez did not appear for Los Bravos. https://deportes.terra.com.mx/juare...9365312b2bd0c237310c91a309080129pupzkong.html
So, the season is over and Veracruz have a purchase option for Saucedo. Over the course of 2016, he made four appearances in Liga MX, all off the bench and totalling less than 90 minutes. He also got some Copa MX games, but mostly spent time in the U20 league.
Rumor is that he's headed to Pumas: #PUMAS | Refuerzo 💥Sebastián Saucedo (22 años) llegará a @PumasMX por los próximos 2 años, procedente del Real Salt Lake de la MLS💥¡Qué joya acaba de adquirir Pumas! pic.twitter.com/KTLEWWHjSR— Vladimir García (@VladimirGarciaG) December 3, 2019 Sebastian Saucedo con el pasaporte mexicano🇲🇽👀..Terminó su contrato con el @realsaltlake , acaso seguirá su carrera en la Liga Mx? So he's still in Mexico then. No need to change the title. This is what I expected, in spite of that bizarre report he'd been transferred to Nashville when he was out of contract. Turns out those were just his MLS rights, as I suspected. Bought them for a cup of coffee. This seems about right, with his level, background, and wanting to atone for the previous stint when he wasn't quite ready nor was his club invested in him. Europe had the most upside for his club and USNT prospects though. LigaMX, in spite of being a solid league, can be kind of a black hole for American players.
Confirmation that a deal has been done: https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...e-us-youth-star-sebastian-saucedo-joins-pumas U.S. youth international Sebastian "Bofo" Saucedo has completed his move to Liga MX side Pumas on a free transfer, signing a two-and-a-half year contract, a Mexico-based source has confirmed to ESPN FC.
I may have missed something, but I don't think RSL ever traded his rights, despite a report from a Twitter account that AFAIK has minimal track record.
That's very possible too. It was the other explanation I originally gave for the report. Either way, it wasn't news that meant Saucedo would be playing in Nashville this year.
And the club confirms it: Procedente del Real Salt Lake City, llega a Pumas nuestro primer refuerzo. ¡Bienvenido a tu nueva casa, Sebastián Saucedo!#Volveremos #SoyDePumas pic.twitter.com/Wr9qg7Oo3r— PUMAS (@PumasMX) December 9, 2019
i am kind of impressed by how he is being characterized as a 'star' in a decent amount of content. that...sounds...overzealous? hoping it becomes true of course.
My thought, too. Liga MX is almost always an awful move for a player of Saucedo's quality. Best of luck to him.
2 titles in the last decade, and 4 appearances in the Champions League, twice reaching the semifinals.
