Stellar display for the dysfunctional team. Not much combination play with the rather slowpoke teammate. But always dangerous when he had the ball. Looks like Rodrygo's hattrick rang the alarm on his head.

Yep, and he created the 2nd also (chance that leading to 2nd penalty kick)

He's the answer for Real's dysfunctional 3 man MF. Sadly, That bald fraud choose Valverde who underperform badly now.

If he can perform like this for the rest of the season, it might convince Zidane to bring him back for next season.

Agree, he just needs to be more precise with his passes and train the right foot enough to be able to use it once in a while.

Yep, the bloody mates trust him more after his match-winning performance Vs Villarreal, and while his output wasn't as good, he played better and connected better with his mates.

Blaming other Mallorca players is just half of the equation, Kubo has his own share of weakness with the tendency to keep the ball for too long. If his decision making and passing is always as on point as in the 2nd half, he could be much more effective.

Had you watched the match properly, you'll notice how difficult it was to play for a team that doesn't have a proper structure nor cohesive and well-drilled movement. Kubo is capable of playing a simple and direct football if his mates played in the same wavelength. It's very often that his mates move to the same space that he want to occupy or create the same trajectory so it's difficult for the team to get a proper spacing in order to play a free flowing football. And one of the most inept of them all, unfortunately is Joan Sastre, the right fullback supposedly combine with him. Sastre has a good crossing ability, but his way to create a supporting run has been terrible until yesterday, sporadically.

I agree. This is his problem whether his playing for his club or NT. He is way too individualistic and trying to do too much by himself.

Had a good game, too bad Barca is too strong when Messi is having a day.

Yes, he played well. He had a balanced and selfless performance, a thing which is not typical to see from the kid.
Let’s hope this is a good indication that he is growing up and maturing.

Well, watching Messi live might give him 1 or 2 ideas of how to play effectively.
1 aspect that if Kubo can step up, his game will level up tremendously: finishing.
(no pressure to shoot it like Messi btw. The guy can finish it, to the top corner, with nearly zero place to swing the foot to generate power, 3 times in a game, madness)

He is a more team-oriented player and works harder on his shortcomings than Kubo. He deserves what he gets.

Mallorca's forwards were wasteful as usual last week. Kubo should already have provided at least 6 assists including 2 penalties he earned.

When you start posting videos of "should be" goals instead of goals, something didn't go well.

I agree about that. Seem little bit stupid. But when your teammates misses easy goals every game its frustrating.

Right, Mallorca should clone him to make sure he can deliver the passes and then score those goals !

Kubo is underperforming. Greatly underperforming if you give (probably not) some credits to summer's rumors and RM training videos.
If you point to his team mates in Mallorca as the excuses for this failure then we are talking about a far different player from the gifted one we were talking about 3 months ago.
And he did nothing better in all his JNT appearances at any level too.
We are close to talk about a Miyaichi 2.0, or worst if Kubo will not reach an Eredivisie's level league and start for a (those years') Feyenoord asap.

Thinking Kubo would start and be a game changer at RM is way overestimated, but thinking he is doing so bad at Mallorca is just another extreme. He is doing OK and shows improvement every match. You can argue how bad Mallorca is, but he is considered a starter at a La Liga team and is judged rightfully by pure football ability, a thing that hardly any others of his seniors bar Inui can pull off.

I think no one who has any senses in his mind in Madrid would expect him to jump right in and start, if it's the case you are talking about Messi/Ronaldo level of prospect. Give him a summer with the seniors, loan him out, let him develop for some years like Odergaard, this is a proper plan. And he is doing just that, I think who is in charge of his management in Madrid is quite happy right now.

18 years old and playing regular minutes in La Liga against some of the worlds best players.

What is there to be disappointed.

Just stop calling him up for the JNT and let him focus on his club football. Flying him back and forth across the world is doing him more harm than good.
