Agreed..his confidence on the ball is sky high.
I think he simply need to pull the trigger on his shot a bit earlier when inside the box...Sometimes, he's a bit too patient looking for the perfect angle to pass or shoot.....that split second holding the ball so deep in the box allows defenders to swarm him from all direction to block his shots a lot.

    That's easily fixable.

    Transfer ban reduced.

Chelsea can sign players in Jan.

And tomorrow is today. This was not a closely held secret obviously, and Chelsea must have been planning for this eventuality.

    Let the speculation continue!

Oh thank goodness. The difference one stud central defender could make for this team ... they could be an upset threat in CL and compete for 3rd or even 2nd in the league. An upgrade at backup striker? One more wingback? It's an exciting proposition.

Sancho at Chelsea could be trouble for Pulisic

Worthy targets. Would love them to focus on Chilwell and Ake and maybe add some other central defender to this list. There has to be a long list of teams competing for Havertz, Sancho, and Werner ... I'd assume they can get 0-1 of those guys.

No it's not. It's trouble for CHO.

Pulisic has the left wing locked up. CHO plays on the right wing, that's also where Sancho plays.

If Sancho arrive, it's Pulisic on the left with Mount as an option. CHO, Sancho, and Willian fight for the right spot. Willian likely go next summer if Sancho arrives.

Yeah, I rather doubt that Lampard would take the Favre approach of being terrified to play Pulisic and Sancho together. I think it could come with some reduced minutes for Pulisic, and potentially accelerate Willian's exit or stunt CHO's growth.

I don't expect it to happen, though. I think Sancho will stay or Chelsea will get outbid for his services.

Hudson Odoi just signed a new contract and is about 7 months removed from an Achilles tear. Willian is the one out of contract in the summer.

I also highly doubt Sancho actually arrives in the Winter. Have to think BvB will fire Favre before they give up on the season like that.

Yeah... I don't think Sancho is coming to Chelsea either... and I agree that Chilwell and Ake should be the main targets.... Imagine having Chilwell at left back and Ake next to him on the left side of the CD? Amazing. Plus... our gain with Chilwell would be Leicester's loss as well. Nice. If we got both then I think a top 4 finish is assured and we could even make waves in the CL.

Signed in Jan, and loaned back 'till summer. Sounds familiar?

Not going to happen in Jan. Leicester will not sell until summer, if they do sell.

If CP continue to play the way he's been playing, his spot on the left is safe...Sancho will must likely replace Willian and play on the right.

Let me guess you buy into the narrative that Pulisic was benched by Sancho.

    SMH...

I do not want Pulisic to play 3500 plus minutes a year, or even 3000. Rest and recovery can improve longevity.

Besides at a top club like CFC, there will always be competition for spots.

Yeah... probably. But I do think they have to sell Chilwell by the summer window considering the price they will likely be getting.

In the end, I do like the idea of getting Sancho... I think he and CP compliment each other quite well and Willian will be gone next season. Just think the Blue needs D far more than they need O and they spent a ton on Odoi to be the future at Right Wing. Also, the O will get a giant boost when RLC comes back as the monster in the middle.

Literally a fable created my lazy reporters that failed to see the big picture. Sure wish that whole "story" wasn't bought so readily by so many pundits.

    No I don't.

I didn't say he'd be bench, just competition but others have answered on what they think will happen and I get their view.

    Exactly.

The area they need to fix immediately is their Defense. You have absolutely no confidence in that D at all. Every corner kick or free kick is an opportunity to give up a goal.

The last 10-15 minutes of every game is a struggle for survival. They do not have a Top 4 D, or even a Top 10 D in the EPL.

Kai Havertz or Timo Werner would be outstanding, though I'm not sure either of them are going to move without a strong suggestion that they will play the majority of the games for the new club and I can't see Frank planting his current striker on the bench for a higher priced player given the current dynamic of the club. I can see them going after another winger to replace Pedro and ultimately Willian though that guy looks ageless. They do need a really solid center back to anchor their line and provide guidance to their youth. The center of the park is good, the outside backs seem good and the GK position is sound.

I don't know that I want to see Sancho at this club given his English roots and hype. He'll get so much more patience from Stanford Bridge than CP would be afforded.

Any solid source to that? I would not mind that as a CP fan due to Dembele not being able to walk from here to there without throwing his groin into spasm. From a Chelsea standpoint I would veto that move.

    Lampy on CP:

‘He is playing really well. He can score more, we have a player in Christian who is someone who is really exciting us but when you see this type of player, you see another level which is goals and assists and he has the ability to go on to that extra level which is the top level of world football.
‘At the moment he is doing really well and hopefully that will be the next part of the progression.’
