We seem dangerously close to a debut for US U20 centerback/#6. 1202261284672200706 is not a valid tweet id
Owen somethingorother who plays for some EPL team (I think it's maybe a Nigerian last name). Wish I could recall which team, that way I could figure out his last name. He's got a few caps with the US U-18 team, I think. Dual-nat. 18 years old I believe, CB/CM. Someone help me out here.
I've read mixed reviews on him. The sort of negative one's say he's mostly been a midfielder so his position and experience aren't there for a center-back (right now). He's also very injury prone (that should be a clue he's one of our top players so he can also be another that tortures us by always being hurt when it's time for callups).
Well, Otasowie has been in Wolves 18 for their last several matches. Wolves.............the 5th placed team in the Premier League. "He can play centre half and midfield. We’re trying to improve him and make him a valuable option for us." -- Wolves senior manager Nuno Espírito Santo on Owen Otasowie, who stands at 6-foot-3 and could be a key player for the US U20s if healthy. https://t.co/8iKfPajr6m— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) December 6, 2019
This column in the BBC features our boy Gio Reyna (and Efrain Alvarez). Comment from Dortmund will raise eyebrows: The German club's assistant manager, Jorg Heinrich, says Reyna is "similar… or maybe a little bit better" than 21-year-old Pulisic. 'U20s'? If he continues to make bench for Wolves Otasowie ought to be getting caps with the senior National Team.
The 21 year old part is out of the quote. Their just starting stuff. He’s saying Reyna is similar or maybe a little better when at the same age as Puli (17 to 17). Where he develops from there is what’s really important.
Reyna is a better soccer player than Puli was at that age but it's hard to count out Pulisic who has the character a coach wants on the roster.
The teams Ferreira/pomykal start for are closer to the team than Reyna starts for than they are to BVB’s first team. Starting for a 1st team isn’t necessarily the best benchmark and shouldn’t be a disqualifying one IMO although I understand the argument.
A beanpole 6'1" is not particularly big for 17. Chituru Odunze, on the other hand, is a broad-shoulder 6'8".
With our softness at CB, when do we start talking about recruiting Philippe Sandler, Man City loan army/Anderlecht starter? Dutch father. American mother.
Agree and he's on the bench for Dortmund today. Not sure that I see Reyna as a #10 long term though although with Dortmund's style he could be that sort of tweener that Reus is.
I could see... ———Sargent—Weah————- ——Pulisic————Reyna——— ———McKennie—Adams———- Dest——————————-Yedlin ———-Brooks——-Miazga———- ——————Steffen——————- Bench: Horvath, Long, Cannon, A.Robinson, Morales, Ledezma, Morris
Making the senior top-5 team bench on the back of strong youth team performances is a shout for a callup--if it continues.
