For the US? Like, the senior team? He's behind every American starter (and some backups) in MLS for me. Plus the goalkeepers abroad. He's like, a top 50 option at best.
Well, true indeed. He was like the 3rd keeper at Berlin. Might have been better if he dropped down to the 3rd division to be no.1 and put in a few seasons and got a shot at 2 Bundesliga or so. But a season or 2 as a no.2 for a big club in Switzerland won't hurt him long-term.
I teach ESL to High School kids. My 10th grade class are really, really smart with a great dynamic. They're way more mature than is the norm and known to be that way. I love them dearly, but they haven't got the maturity to decide which mobile phone payment plan to adopt. That's why they have to have adult supervision. Which is why I've been hired . . .
Dude, his father was the No. 1 No. 9 fur die Mannschaft for the better part of a decade. How many football people people do you think know (or claim to know) his dad?? In the end, Klinsmann was an empty suit as a coach, which f#&$ed the US MNT over and is very likely to do the same to Hertha. But don't you think his failures since the high point of his career - which was 13 years ago - might make some people a little cautious about his recommendations? His contacts helped his son get a foot in the door but is a BL1 side going to take someone on as a player based on who his dad is? Give him trials? Of course, but to sign a contract? Make him the starting GK for the RL side? Be serious.
Go on with this JK ********ed the USMNT nonsense. The true problem existed within the organization. If the fed can't solve it, you won't see US compete at another world cup until 2026.
He has 24 appearances in the German 4th tier, 2 in the Swiss Cup, and 1 in the Europa League. To steal a line from Jurgen, Jonathan hasn't done shit. He's barely a professional goalkeeper. It's borderline impossible to judge his ability because of how little he has played. Until he does, he's in the vague morass of like, USL goalkeepers and MLS backups.
I would love to be at thanksgiving with the Klinsmanns when Jr tells his dad he is taking a starting spot at FC Reno....
Friends! Romans! Countrymen! I come to compare Steffen, not to criticize him. At 21, Klinsmann racked up two dozen RL appearances and 90' in the EL before moving on to an MLS-comparable side as the designated no.2 keeper. At the same age, Steffen was the Crew's third-choice GK on loan at Pittsburgh after quitting Freiburg with only a dozen RL appearances. Three seasons later he's starting in the Bundesliga. Let's see how this plays out before pigeon-holing a GK at 22.
You're on! And a bottle of Power's Gold to the winner I'm supremely confident that it'll never happen. Four reasons: 1) Klinsi is there until June 30th and signing his son in December is just tooo obvious - even for an ego like his, especially as 2) Jr will require a transfer fee, however modest, which will increase the obviousness 3) Hertha have 3 GKs already, two experienced vets an a 20 year-old with BL1 and Pokal PT already this season, And, finally, the clincher 4) if Klinsi is to force someone out come summer, it means he'll be a good enough coach to be kept on. Does anyone think THAT'S going to happen? P.S. Shameless trolling of @Eighteen Alpha alert

Doubtful. @Suyuntuy may be right. Never giving the #3 even a sniff of the bench isn't going to do a lot for his motivation or dressing-room harmony and you never know when you might need him to perform. It's more likely that he has picked up a strain or a knock in training and it came too late to make the papers in a league isn't that plugged into international media anyway. Another possibility is that Klinsi hasn't been putting enough pressure on the starter/distance between himself and the #3 recently and it was time to remind him of the need to do so. Could also be a bit of both.
Looks like he's injured, but there are some moves potentially happening around the GK slot: Da mit Jonathan Klinsmann und Nico Strübi aktuell beide Ersatztorhüter verletzt sind, müsste bei einem Abgang von Stojanovic kurzfristig ein neuer Torhüter verpflichtet werden.— fcsg Briefing (@fcsg_briefing) January 9, 2020 Since Jonathan Klinsmann and Nico Strübi are currently both injured goalkeeper injuries, a new goalkeeper would have to be hired if Stojanovic left. Dejan Stojanovic might be moving to Middlesbrough, which will probably lose Darren Randolph. He's started all 18 league matches for FCSG this season.
so basically he risks to continue being relegated to 2nd GK with new GK potentially coming in? at this point in time it's better for Klinsmann Jr if Stojanovic didn't leave until Summer.
