Akale hasnt played since early Ocober and hasnt been in the squad for quite a few games. Anybody have any info of what is going on?
Don't worry when Geoff Cameron turned 23 the only professional experience he had was half a season in MLS. Mukwelle is on fine trajectory.
That is common knowledge. I guess I could naively speculate about what that means, but I prefer to go on actual facts. If only we had reporters who would take 5 minutes to actually get some details of players situation.
Why would he be on a youth contract? He extended his contract when he was 21 and playing for their second team in the third division. They are only one of the 4 second teams in that division with Barcelona, Espanol, and Valencia. So 16 of the teams they play are grown men.
this is one of the most perplexing player development paths i can recall. this is definitely stranger than lletget at west ham
I dont know the league minimum for Segunda B. I dont believe everyone knows it is unlikely for Akale to make it. That definitely wasnt the case when he extended his contract about a year and a half ago.
No you see, it's totally fine and normal and plenty of world-class players are struggling to get B team minutes in the third division at age 23. He's definitely on the right trajectory for his development and anyone who says otherwise is the reason why football will never reach a high level in this country. /s
As we wind down 2019, akale is still toiling away as a rotation player for Villarreal B. Perhaps this is the window he moves clubs. I’d imagine a move to like Detroit city or Indy XI would be helpful for his career.
Unless he really has no opportunities anywhere, it's hard for me to believe a guy who's spent half a decade, including all of his late teens, in Europe would be in a hurry to return to the U.S. to play in something like the NISA or maybe even the USL. Some kind of move within Europe, now or later, seems far more likely to me, even if the level is substantially below La Liga. Of course, I'm just guessing here.
I think we're getting closer to that day. Also getting closer to the day he moves to a club where he'll actually get first-team minutes. Though that move will likely not be in La Liga.
Is it really more complicated than that he's a player at a fancy club with a dedicated hype man on the internet?
Perhaps not. I just assumed he was tryna give Andrew Carleton a run for worst-managed career of recent USYNT players.
You're using Geoff Cameron's path as ideal from almost 12 yrs ago? Anyone who knows soccer knows its not a good path to first team football is to still be playing minor league ball as a 23 yr old.
