I would be willing to bet Bayern gets the first shot at these players and only after they have said they are not interested do other teams get involved. I wouldn't think Bayern would want other teams looking at players they were interested in signing but don't know how it works in detail.

Right of first refusal I would imagine. FCD sent him over last year. Then again this year. BM aren't interested but are willing to help FCD out because they get first dibs on the kids, and the kids get to train over there and be seen by other clubs. I can't imagine BM cares much what happens to the kids who aren't good enough for them. Helping FCD make money on their academy might even indirectly help them long term.

Booth was playing with them in preseason, and then got injured. The fans seem regard him as one of the better players in their academy from what I've read. I suspect he has a better chance to play for the first team than Richards does, but it won't matter if he can't stay on the pitch.

Bayern actually seems to be pretty honorable in inter-club dealings. I wouldn't be shocked if they arranged for Roberts' trials at teams that they felt were closer to his level.

Yeah Bayern might have to be nice because they buy so many players from other German clubs. They don't want clubs holding a grudge when they want to pluck one of their stars away from them later on.

I think there's a lot of reading into those comments from Buzz.
The young FCD kids played in an U19 game for Bayern. Meaning representatives/scouts from those other clubs could attend just like you or I could. There's nothing anywhere that says Bayern did anything. These other clubs were probably disappointed that Ricardo Pepi was in a boot and hasn't been playing. Cuz that's the kid I'd want to see.

Not only do I think Roberts isn't good enough for Bayern Munich, I don't think Richards & Booth are either. Julian Green scored 25 goals in 51 games for Bayern II, and HE wasn't good enough for Bayern Munich. Cuz they can just go out and sign Lewandowski instead. Standards are exceptionally high. [In other words I'm not trying to insult or disparage those players. That's reality.]

By the way, the club probably would sell Roberts if a reasonable bid came in. No problem with that. If Pomykal is intent on staying for a while, and wants to put down roots at FCD.....................then Roberts is the one they can sell. Keep the line moving even if its the middle of the line. They can retain Hayes and then promote an NTSC or academy youngster. Arturo Rodriguez, for instance.

Your point stands either way, but wasn't Julian Green tearing it up with Bayern at a lower division than Richards is currently playing?

As for Roberts being so expendable for Dallas, do they have enough attacking firepower to be so willing to part with a player like Roberts? Of course there is a price (and it's probably not all that high), but it seems FCD is lacking creativity in midfield and on the wing. They are limited in the attack because of this, and Roberts is the exact type of player that could solve that issue. Ferriera was not all that effective as an attacking midfielder and didn't really drive things forward like Roberts can. Put Ferreira on the wing for Badji or up top at the 9.

Pomykal was able to do a lot of that work at the beginning of last season, but he was not as involved as he moved higher up the pitch later in the season. The problem was that he didn't really have anyone in the middle of the park to play and combine with, and that's exactly what Roberts could provide -- a Roberts/Pomykal pairing could be deadly.

Shrug. I like Roberts. No reason to not like Roberts as a prospect. But if the right bid comes in, I have no reason NOT to sell. Plenty of fish in the sea. Plenty of fish in FCD's own sea!

I still think the likely trio in the midfield is Pomykal, Servania, and Acosta. Ferreira played more of a deep lying position down the stretch for FCD when Pomykal was struggling health wise. I prefer Ferreira up top as a forward.

So if Roberts stays with FCD next season, he'll be a squad rotation player. Pomykal and Acosta are likely gone for extended periods with nationals teams. Maybe Servania too. I do think that if he stays with FCD his minutes will go up next season. He'd eat Jacori Hayes' minutes. But he's a rotation player nonetheless.

Keep in mind I'm OK with selling any player on the FCD roster if the "right bid" comes in from abroad. We're not giving them away. If a club wants to pay FCD what Gladbach just paid for Scally…………..I'd drive over to help Roberts pack his bags right now!!!

There was a time, not too long ago, when EPB was touted by many as a likely USMNT CB for the future. Most fans have since downsized their expectations of his ceiling, but nevertheless this recent run of form is encouraging. Who knows, he may fool a lot of us and eventually enter the USMNT discussion.

I don’t see what the guy has done wrong on the field. His club choices haven’t helped him out, but he’s played well since he left SKC at all three teams he’s played with. It’s also hard to fault a player for taking money at Man City. We’d all like these players to sign with teams that won’t sent them out on loan every year, but plenty of people will prefer more money over a better working situation. It’s not only footballers.

Epb getting reps too, not being ignored by say a manager that doesn’t want some loanee. Him grinding his way into a top 5 league and getting national team caps is hardly impossible. For purely illustrative purposes I think Virgil was probably at Celtic still at epbs age

The loan army rule that's supposed to be in place for next season will be good for EPB (and Miazga). I could see him even being able to be had on a free with a sell on fee going to Man City.

EPB is our most talented CB prospect outside of Otasowie and Richards. He is the evidence of why your first club moves are so vital. SKC buried him but he was still our best 97 until he went over to Europe where he completely went off the radar. The golden ball in u20 concacaf qualifying player is still there.
