Waiting on the first signing though....you'd think it would happen soon.
BTW https://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2019/11/21/la-galaxy-announce-roster-decisions-ahead-2020-mls-season Servando Carrasco was just released by LAG. He is from San Diego, my bet is he is one of the first signings of Loyals.
So apparently there was a Q&A with Landon Donovan on FB in the last 2-3 days. Any summary available or copy/paste from someone with an account?
Open tryouts on Dec 15. Supposed to get some roster announcements this week or next though. I do wonder if they will have a reserve team eventually.
San Diego Loyal SC is featuring the SD "sun/wordmark" part of their crest on some of their initial wave of apparel. Hope it catches on as a primary on caps & co! Still dig the colors, but it's also still a terrible name. Also got myself a season ticket. Also: "Along with additional merchandise, the club’s official jerseys are slated to debut in early 2020." I'll be moving back to SD early in 2021 and I'll absolutely grab some merch and possibly get a season ticket or two.
Sal Zizzo the first player signing. Hopefully they announce more soon. Team also announced a partnership with the Sockers (indoor team). Although I am not sure what that means exactly (maybe discount for season tickets to both and maybe even shared players).
We have our first 3 players: Sal Zizzo Emrah Klementah Eric Avila Surprised we don't have more San Diegan's signing (granted Zizzo and Avila are both from here..I just thought we'd already have more signings). Wondering if someone like Guido could be convinced to come home.
ugh they go with the 3 stripes as their supplier, thus say hello to cookie cutter designs instead of unique, maybe even SD themed ones.
I wasn’t talking about the crest or the colors (which I like) but jersey templates and overall apparel.
Never been to Stone, but I see them advertized way, way, way more than any other brewpub here. But I do like how it looks. Especially the GK jersey. I was unable to attend due to IRL things, but I will say I'm disappointed that there's no longsleeve. The colors used are good, though. Kind of worried they'd try cramming every single color in their seal on there.
It gets kind of cool in winter. Also, I wear long sleeve blanks to save my elbows from wear and tear on my crutches. Not applicable to the masses, but something I have to think about. Glad to see Adidas supply us. One of my blanks is Adidas. I kind of wonder about that controversial claws-on-the-shoulder template. I wonder if any USL team will use that.
Like the uniform colors with white, orange and green. Would have preferred it though if they went with different colored shorts or/and socks to break up the monochrome look. Ex. Home: white jerseys and socks with either green or orange shorts. Away: orange jerseys and socks with either green or white shorts. Two things of note: Jerseys have a lead up time of about 18 months. Details in the paywalled Athletic article https://theathletic.com/1586210/202...-adidas-design-process/?source=shared-article. So the inaugural jerseys are some sort of team wear / catalogue option for sure, with the team being around less than a year. There was talk of adidas having problems to produce a torrey green that matches the color in real life. So maybe look out for it in a future version.
