Was coming here to post this Wow! I really thought this was a joke/fake. I don't even understand what it is supposed to be.
My interpretation is it's some kind of minimalist depiction of the Chicago skyline/fire reflected in Lake Michigan.
If I squint I can imagine it as a representation of flames or a stylized version of Chicago's six-pointed star, but someone on another site called it 3 Klansmen by the lake.
Could be much worse. And the old logo won't go away. Quakes are still promoting Clash scorpions. P.S. Vancouver? Pshaw. In this realm of logo and brand ID rip-offs?
Naw, what the process demands from the USPTO folks is that the initial download of your mark that you send to them must always be presented in black and white.
The finished product: I don't care for the yellow/gold, but the rest of it has grown on me a lot over the last week.
Not only is that not very good, it's worse than the current badge/logo. There's nothing in the graphics that says "Chicago" rather than some other place.
I like how no one has commented on the name change from Chicago Fire SC to Chicago Fire FC to symbolize the organizations move towards the global sport of football. I love these rebrands and their vapid explanations. They spent a ton of money on this and no one will remember it in a few months.
That crest is pretty cringe. This trend of minimalist logo designs really needs to die. They're so low-effort and soulless.
Well it's easy to have a good logo and nickname (monsters of the Midway) if you steal it from established college programs. Go Maroons
They should just steal from Sufjan Stevens and have a logo of Carl Sandberg eating a bowl of Cream of Wheat in front of a Ferris wheel. That at least would identify them as Chicago.
