I'm going to play devil's advocate on a couple things.

If Falcao was available, did we really want to see him play? I'd be the first one complaining to try the new guys.

Also why hold the #10 for James if he isn't interested in being part of the team (a little harsh and totally not true but.....).

I'm not sold on CQ but I do agree that the players made some bad decisions in the attack. Maybe too many playing out of position, I'm not sure.

Agreed, I do want to see us rely on other strikers that aren't Falcao. I don't doubt that he can still get goals but the way how our team is now needs work.

I do agree that it is harsh lol...I feel that James is being careless with his fitness and how he trains to lead to his injuries but he's always played his heart out for Colombia. It's not the end of the world that we take advantage of growing stronger without him to improve the overall quality of the team for when he does play.

This, is very spot on. We saw the number of chances in the game against Ecuador and all of us were getting annoyed at how we weren't up by more than by a single. Sad when I saw a bit of selfless passes which is a good thing but didn't exactly result in what we needed.

Falcao is a legend in yellow. We all know that. He's had a horrible run of injuries that's kept him from performing at the highest level for club. If he gets back to top form I don't see why he shouldn't be called. That simple. I'm still on the Morelos band-wagon but it's clear that unless we have more clinical finishers (so far Zapata is filling that role), we'll still need to hold on to Falcao and see what he can produce.

Regarding James, when did he say he wasn't interested in playing for the NT? The guy is injured, what's he supposed to do? I'm not sure I follow your logic.

Morelos is still young, no need to over analyze him based on a couple of matches where the whole team has struggled. Duvan is the first choice, but that's obvious. I don't miss Falcao at this point. There is also Muriel, he is way better than Falcao. Then there is Borre, he still deserves a chance.

There is no guarantee Morelos will be a superstar in the future, but it's really weird to give up on him right now. He didn't reach his peak in HJK or Rangers after his first 3-4 matches, did he?

    Fair points.

From my perspective, there will likely not be a better scenario for Morelos to see as much playing time as he did over these past two games (barring injury/suspension to guys like Duvan, Borre and Falcao).

While I haven’t given up on him, I think we can all agree that Morelos didn’t execute in a way that would put him in a “I am comfortable with him as a starter” role going forward.

We can criticize all we want about tactics, formations, etc., but Morelos did have some good opportunities to score on Tuesday.

In 2020 - hopefully Duvan, Borre, Falcao and Morelos will be fit and available and if all are...it will be interesting to see where Morelos fits in the equation. For now I still have him on the same fence as Borre and even Falcao who, lets face it, is not the same player who was at the top of the food chain in 2011-12.

I still havent seen the last two games so I can't say anything, but if most people say he didn't play well I'm not going to say otherwise. I agree that if he didn't use this opportunity he shouldn't be a starter in official matches in the near future.

Jackson is the best example of club form not = NT form. But Bacca is close. So there are no guarantees about anyone. Only time will tell.

Borre hasn't really been involved much yet, Falcao is coming back from another injury and the clock is ticking. Goal scorers usually need enough games and the good ones will eventually score, the variance from game to game can be wild but Morelos record as a goal scorer as well as his ability to press and add a lot of other factors to play put him strongly as the backup to Duvan I'd imagine. Borre and Falcao do not fit the current system well at all, it doesn't really play to their strengths and CQ doesn't seem to want to change his system, Duvan and Morelos fit extremely well in his 4-3-3 system as 9's so I'd guess they are much more likely to be given multiple chances. I personally think the more games that Morelos gets the more he's going to score, the guy is a very good finisher from what I've seen and he's still very young and will get better.

last 2 games, he scores game winner vs Peru. He had a clear 1 v1 vs GK with nothing but GK to beat but that was from a ball that he hustled away from the Ecuadorian defense in the 1st place. I'm just saying you see that he hustles and pressures and his positioning is really good.

Hopefully, CQ was trying to evaluate all his options. Let see what he does when it really counts. I know he believes friendlies are to experiment.

Yeah i doubt duvan have had a better performance in these matches.......

Falcao should turned when he started to scoring again.....but if that doesnt happen again so there is no need to called him
