No no, crzd doesn't have this kind of expectation from us. He knows that we are only human beings.

Oh yes because you all forgot about my channel when you guys saw my video regarding Falcao's injury in 2014. I even remember one of you saying that you saved it in your favorites...which I find odd.

We can blame the manager and tactics all we want...

... but you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink.

Our players have been put in good situations to score and keep on missing their chances. That is not necessarily on Queiroz. The players have to step up and score more consistently and become more efficient with their chances.

Now we have the long wait between now and qualifiers. Although it is not as long of a wait since the Sub 23 will be entertaining in January. I have a feeling whoever looks good in that tournament will also be a key figure for us this WCQing cycle going forward. Hopefully a bunch of new kids step up and gain some confidence.

Ill never be sold on Morelos. Hope Duvan regains his form after his injury and we find a reliable back up. Morelos is just not enough quality for the NT

I have been very critical of this kid since day one. I am trying to have an open mind about him and he is still young and acclimating to this level.
But I somewhat agree, if he is going to be our #9 in official matches going forward I am going to have to consume a lot of alka seltzer and prescribe to some high blood pressure medication.
I am praying Duvan stays healthy and some other #9 comes out of the blue.

Yesterday he reminded me Jackson Martinez under Pekerman. A goal machine for his club but goalless when it comes to the NT. Hope his future with Colombia will be better.

I'm beginning to get annoyed by CQ unwillingness to adapt his tactics to players. I love the fact he wants everyone to defend/attack and play a more modern game but come on you need to understand you can't have 3 strikers playing at once. You need to have wingers or am with one striker.

Diaz and mendoza are wingers... minusito.

Colombia have this game philosophy since pinto and bolillo of "modern football".....queiroz doesnt want nothing new we had before ...he just only chooses bad players.

This guy dont have to take colombian players that play in high level in europe to modern football.....stop that myth that he is implementing something modern.

Actually colombian coaches like osorio, even pinto seems more updated than queiroz judging results and performances.

I didn't like that Roger entered as a 9. I think that in the Copa as a winger he did a better job, also during friendlies. He can play as a 9 but in my opinion he'll be more effective as a winger.

He has 1 style of play and then forces his players to use it

hopefully when James, Falcao and Quintero come back and he gets in a fight with them like Pinto did with Yepes and Córdoba that our fed chooses the players side because this coach is bad

taking out Sanchez who was actually creating chances and leading the defense out made them more willing to come out and attack

taking Uribe out took out our engine and killed our tempo

then playing players out of position so they would still be in a 4-3-3 was the nail in the coffin. Glad I didn’t go to the game because I would be cheering for Ecuador by the end. We are frustrating to watch. What did we have 10 shots at goal and another lucky goal?

ecuador lost 6-1 to Argentina last month and watching this game you can see why. Their goalie wasn’t that good and their defense is pathetic but when you have 3 strikers and all are afraid to shoot at goal. You won’t score

And ISNT MODERN and nothing what we had before.........isnt like these players that have been coached by ancelotti, sarri, pochetinno, gallardo, gasperini, mancini, valverde......need to be teach about "moder football" ..........isnt like not use creative players is equivalen to modern football...........and this football isnt more modern of what we had with pekerman.

@HomietheClown why do You defend Queiroz so much? The guy is the worse shit we've had since Lara. The fact that Falcao, Duvan, Quintero and James are missing doesn't mean that he shouldn't he looking at ways of making other players gel together and integrating them, especially playmakers. I just see no reason ehh he shouldn't he calling Atuesta and Cantillo, as You can see I'm not Even asking for a #10, all I want is someone who has a wide Range of passing so that he stops playing Lerma as a central midfielder.

My notes/observations from seeing the game in person:

    1. Always a fun time seeing the NT live, although the attendance was not great - perhaps the colder weather and the fact it was Ecuador kept people away.

    2. the Blue/Grey jerseys look so-so. the reaction from people sitting around me was mixed.

    3. I was asking some of the people around me what they think of CQ and they were all on the fence but understood that we have been without James/JFQ and know that Morelos is not a long term starter....

    4. On the whole we had more possession, but Ecuador's opportunities on goal were more lethal than ours. I know I get flack from for saying this, but a smarter/better team with those same opportunities would have beat us 3-2 yesterday.

    5. Again, our sense of urgency to build upon a 1-0 lead is simply not there. I almost wanted Ecuador to tie the game just so our players could "wake up" We simply kept Ecuador in the game.

    6. Our players have a strong tendency to stay in one place rather than look for space and often times the passes are to the player and not in front of them. there was a couple of times where we could have made a brilliant run but the pass was behind the player so that player had to stop and drop back a step before receiving the pass. I think that happened to both Cuadrado and Diaz.

    7. I didn't like the timing and purpose of the final two subs. Yairo for Stiven and Yairo was playing in a RW position - didn't someone say he plays LB at the club level? Either he is super versatile or CQ had no choice? Tesillo for Fabra in 89th minute? If this was a WCQ and a tactical sub to kill time, i get it - but this is a friendly.....let Fabra finish unless he is injured....

    *************************************************************************

Ospina - had some impressive stops and one or two brilliant saves. At this rate, he is likely to be the everyday guy for the CA20 and WCW22 cycle and 26 cycle as well LOL

Davison - had a blunder/foul that could have been a FK for most other teams, but he made up for it with some quality defending and fancy footwork the rest of the first half.

Jeison - my eyesight is clearly terrible. maybe b/c i drank two beers, but i somehow convinced myself that it was Tesillo playing in the 2nd half as CB. Jeison actually played fine and didn't raise my blood pressure. so maybe my trick worked in my favor LOL

Lucumi - did fine. He's going to be the Oscar of this cycle.

Medina - he trolled me big time today. had some good crosses and was attacking more. after the assist to Uribe he pointed at me and shouted "en tu colita!!" i guess he reads my posts here ;) i still prefer Arias when playing against Brazil/Argentina/Uruguay/Chile.

Fabra - glad to see him play nearly a full game and was in an attacking mode. Not to say I dislike Tesillo, but LB should be between Tesillo/Fabra this cycle, there isn't anyone else

Tesillo - N/A, came on too late

Barrios - had two brain farts with some of his passes, but otherwise was a beast.

Uribe - was the midfield general and plays with purpose. he wants the ball and is not afraid to put the game in his hands. Ran out of gas before getting subbed out. Nice goal, even though he whiffed on the first kick - nevertheless, he kept his composure after Medina was there to give cover and service back to him.

Lerma - seems like a wild man out there at times. maybe he is putting too much pressure on himself.

Alzate - i was impressed. kept the game simple and gave balance to the midfield. I want to see more of him in the future.

Stiven - he hustles and seems more comfortable dropping back on defense than being in the attack. there was an opportunity where he was dribbling towards goal and didn't even bother to look for someone to pass to and ended up taking a weak shot. i don't see him making a final 23 for a tournament, but won't be surprised if he pops in from time to time during the WCQ

Yairo - didn't add much off the bench and was confused as to why he was playing as a forward at the end of the game....

Diaz - liked seeing him take the corner kicks, but like Roger and Muriel - there seems to be a complacency issue where they know they have a spot on the team and some games they are white hot and other games they are quiet.

Cuadrado - Got the 2nd loudest ovation of the night (the goal being the loudest) when he came on the field. he was trying his hardest to get an assist late in the game. didn't mind seeing him play as an attacker off the bench.

Morelos - i said before this two-game set that Morelos is not likely to have a better opportunity to shine than these two games. He had some great opportunities to score and just could not execute - plain and simple. Will be interesting to see how things shake out over time when Duvan, Borre and Falcao are available again among other attackers as well.

Roger - at the start of the 2nd half, he was putting up the good fight and trying to be all over the field. I prefer him as a 2nd striker or winger rather than a #9

    sorry for the long post!

But he's not an anchor, he has did not play as a lone anchor in Levante and isn't doing it in Bournemouth. He plays as a dual CM in a 4-4-2 in both places, he has struggled with Colombia because he's played in the Barrios position as an anchor and its not his strong point. We should be using Cantillo or Cuellar there since that's more their role. Lerma in the 4-3-3 system or a 4-1-4-1 is probably better playing as a box to box 8 then he is as a single pivot. He isn't one to simply sit and shield, he roams and destroys and jump into play, you can't do that as the anchor. We really should be giving Cantillo a chance to be Barrios back up, but clearly Barrios is the best for that position.

I think that the biggest problem is that Lerma doesn't fit well in a 4-3-3 unless we are being really defensive. He shouldn't be the anchor and he's too defensive to play the 8 role most of the time. Its unfortunate because he's a good player in the right system, in a 4-4-2 he's very good and if he can get more time playing as an 8 he could be good there and the same for the anchor but as of now he's not a good fit for any of those spots. Alzate is solid enough defensively and offers a lot more going forward and so will Agudelo going forward, so Lerma may continue to be the odd man out.

I'm willing to give Alzate more time but there were several plays where he lost the ball in MF leading to counters. Cantillo would run circles around Alzate offensively and defensively be just as solid. His EPL status is what will likely earn him a call up.
Also, I'm not sure who's in charge of giving out jerseys but I didn't like Alzate wearing the most coveted jersey in his 1st outing. Especially when James had just been there a week ago. Maybe it was a 'mind' test by CQ but even Cuadrado, Cardona and JFQ have stayed off the #10. Just sayin'.

It's stupid Cantillo hasn't gotten a real chance with the NT yet and yeah Alzate getting more time over him doesn't make a lot of sense. He needs to get out of Colombia because he's not getting a fair shake, he also won't make the most of his career and the clock is ticking to move.

i really liked Alzate he is green yes but showed more to me then Cuadrado did. Much better then Yairo as well.

cantillo at this point just has a bad agent.

bad plays by Alzate I put down to no chemistry with teammates and is young + 1st game starting.

he did have a foul near our box that could have been a goal if Neymar or Messi got to take that shot

to me worst was Morelos then Fabra. Mendoza wasn’t bad just has awful finishing and shit his pants when it was time to shoot

Morelos was a let down. I didn’t think Fabra was that bad, maybe I was just happy to see him play again so he could do no wrong in my eyes yesterday LOL
