My guess is he's trying to land a book deal, and his agent told him he can get a bigger advance from a publisher if he's running for President.

Just saw Deval Patrick on the Nicole Wallace show. Man, the second question she asked him was about Bain Capital. The least I can say is that he was not very convincing or even prepared for it.

Seriously? I mean . . . Really? How can a guy working at the place that made Mitt Romney rich(er) not be ready for that question?

I have other comments, but I'm not wasting my time with this guy unless he turns into a serious contender.

Hi Mike, that is a better use of your money. No need to run. Drop an other $ 100M in voter registration and GOTV and we will all be grateful.

“Michael Bloomberg still has not declared whether he is running for president in 2020. He is about to become the single biggest spender in the presidential race anyway,” the New York Times reports.

“Ahead of a potential campaign announcement, Mr. Bloomberg, the billionaire businessman and former mayor of New York City, is beginning a $100 million digital campaign designed to attack and define President Trump in the top battleground states seen as likely to decide the 2020 election. The ads will go online on Friday in four states — Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — and run through the end of the primary season, even if Mr. Bloomberg is not in the race.”

Well, if Patrick had anything to do with something Sun Ra-related... I'd consider him.

If you are ever in the area of the U of Chicago, you can in advance make a request to see a collection of Sun Ra stuff from one maybe two exhibits they've been associated with.

    And a shitty one, apparently.

"In 1960, Patrick left Emily, Deval and Rhonda, and moved out of their apartment. When four-year-old Deval chased after him, he slapped his son and continued.[9] He refused to sign Deval's application to Milton Academy, arguing that Deval would lose his African-American identity there. Deval, whose tuition was paid by scholarship, was accepted anyway.[1] Deval saw his father only rarely during his life.[6]"

I did not know that, but I must say that I'm more surprised that an Arkestra sax player was born in East Moline, and died in Moline, two towns whose high schools were conference rivals with my own.

If this is true, the Kamala Harris organization is in total chaos right now.

So, basically Harris's campaign has entered the phase where her staff know she isn't going to win and is likely dropping out relatively soon, so they are looking to blame someone else for Harris's failures. Gotcha. ;)

Buttgieg is making headway in Iowa, two polls have him slimly ahead. The Buttgieg surge in Iowa is a pretty problematic thing for Warren. If Buttgieg wins Iowa, he can become the natural option for educated whites as opposed to Warren. It's also tremendous news for Biden, because the longer the race stays muddled, the better, and if it stays muddled through Super Tuesday, Biden will have a big advantage.

We'll see that play out roughly a dozen more times over the next few months. And we'll likely miss it a few times in candidates we've forgotten about.

Note the part about “losses elsewhere.”

    It’s all identity politics now.
