why even have possession be a goal if your only creative instincts are hopeful crosses to a striker outnumbered in the box

    How to beat "the system"

    1. Give the US possession in the middle third.
    2. Wait for the fullbacks to push up way too high. Do not mark them.
    3. Wait for the US to give up possession, which will happen with minimal pressure
    4. exploit the now-open space behind the fullbacks for fun and profit.

The criticism of Dotson was the ease with which the ball was stripped from him. But he certainly wasn’t helped by the crappy shape

he has to know thats a 50/50 ball that he either wins or fouls to break up the play. the shape is definitely garbage.

That was the one allowed long goal kick to catch them sleeping. Came to nothing. Oh well, back to POTB.

Brazil is so good at breaking up an opposing teams rhythm. They foul, dive, and do whatever they can to throw a team into disarray. Our teams never seem prepared for that style of opponent.

10 of 11, Ledezma getting an unearned start was the only exception.

Minus Ledesma, and Kreis subs him out, even though he was the best American by miles.

Ok so our new strategy is to try and play like Spain, whilst making player selections like Italy.

Mendez and Ledezma the only guys who can make space with the ball at their feet.

Sabbi has had good movement and looks 10X better than he did in March.

    Vines is awful.

Aaronson and Cappis have totally changed the midfield. Saucedo has been pretty solid aside from some laziness early. Our overall possession play has been much better but still not getting enough opportunities on the goal.
