is Reus injured? Left the match at 28th min......

Boateng makes me glad that he doesn't play for Germany he's been pretty bad since his injuries some years ago.

Bayern have wanted to dump him for awhile but seems to be lack of interest or too expensive.

The way Bayern played yesterday, Neuer looked like the best passing player out of the whole team  Cool, calm and composed performance from Neuer who adds much needed composure in Bayern’s backline these days. Having watched almost all matches this season, I have yet to see Neuer concede any goal where you can directly blame him. Zero chance yesterday

BIERHOFF: "RECYCLING THE LAST PERCENT AT THE WORLD'S POINT"
Service provider and source of inspiration for the way back to the top of the world: On Monday, the DFB Academy informed about its sporting content at a media workshop in Berlin. Oliver Bierhoff, director of national teams and academy, talks in the DFB.de interview with editor Tobias Bach about the role of the academy for the national teams, the project Zukunft, coaching and cooperation in German football.

DFB.de: Mr. Bierhoff, you have given the goal to come back with the German football back to the top of the world. What role does the DFB Academy play in this? What significance does it have for the national teams?

Oliver Bierhoff: We have to take the next step in German football - together with the league and the state associations. I have already mentioned that at the DFB Bundestag. I sense that everyone involved has recognized both necessity and urgency. We want to get the last percent back on top of the world. This is exactly where the DFB Academy helps us enormously. It is a service provider and an impetus - and it is also a key institution for the success of Projekt Zukunft: We are currently developing concrete measures so that we can make the most of the talent pool in Germany and be successful in the long term with our teams. However, this can not happen overnight, because we have to be realistic.

DFB.de: What time horizon are you aiming for?

Bierhoff: German football had last undergone a major change in the year 2000 when the youth performance centers were introduced. It took ten years to see the first success, and another four years later, we won the world title in Brazil. This time it is a content correction: Some topics can be pushed faster, because we have direct access to these areas - such as in the coach education. In other fields - for example in the promotion and competitive structures - a little more persuasion is needed. It is a common task of all participants in German football to train the "World Champions of Tomorrow" - and to allow the right conditions for this. Not only do we want to identify the problems, we also want to implement solutions.

DFB.de: The football teacher training course of the DFB Academy has already been structurally and substantively reformed. In addition, a mentor program for former players has now been initiated. What's it all about?

Bierhoff: These are part of our overall strategy to get back to the top of the world. We want to further develop German football - so we have critically questioned what we can do better in our coach education. Our football teachers are now being trained in a more hands-on, individual and location-independent way, using the possibilities of digitization and setting up a "digital campus". Our coaches are critical to the quality of our players. We generally have to manage to give them more opportunities in education and training. In addition, we must succeed in keeping the wealth of experience and knowledge of ex-professionals much more in the system - be it as a coach, sports director or subject matter expert. But the name alone is not enough: we have to accompany and coach them so that they can build up a certain amount of competence. That's why we initiated the mentoring program with our academy.

DFB.de: As a service provider and source of inspiration, the DFB Academy has its ear on the pulse of the times, looks beyond the box with experts and acts as a networker for German football. How important is this linking role?

Bierhoff: Internationally, there is no comparable institution and no comparable forum for the DFB Academy - that's why we are also looking forward to the new DFB building, which our Secretary General Friedrich Curtius is doing very well. We thus also receive a sporting home. With our academy, we are a small, compact competence center, in which theory and practice are constantly improving each other. We already live this in our current projects. Again and again we want to bring together the various experts and players, generate knowledge and apply this back to the system in an application-oriented way.

LOL Can is listed in CB. Wonder when Rudiger returns from injury? Sule is either out all season or barely makes it back for the Euro....

That's showing no respect to a great player of hummels ilk, loew is a 2 face hypocrite, hummels was his stalwart in the successful times yet when transition in the squad has occurred hes virtually thrown him under the bus

It is really Loew who needs to be sacked rather than Hummels

Nah we dont need to win any games at the moment. And longterm development is more important.

Basically you are the guys in 2005 saying we should field Nowotny instead of Mertesacker

Biggest mistake this season (as a Bayern fan) was letting Hummels go as we see how the season has progressed
I always said it was a mistake

I’m ok with it. Not the most inspired. But I’ll still get it.
