Steffen and co hold on to win 2-0 in one of the ugliest games I've seen in a long time. Fortuna's counter looked pretty decent, but Koln was so bad who knows how it would be against a decent team. But they do just enough to stay ahead of the drop zone - esp if Wes and Co give them a little help now.
Gotta beat the teams around you to stay up. Really good result for Dusseldorf. I think, at this point, that they're pretty unlikely to go down. Looking at goal differential, there's a pretty clear bottom 4, and I think Fortuna has enough quality to stay above at least 3 of them.
'Liked' Steffen (& Co) 2 - 0 Koln 8 shots against, but only 1 on goal. Not going to win many awards with opponents like Koln. Happy with the clean sheet, but ideally those come with plenty of saves. We really need to encourage the opposition to get more shots on frame.
I'm guessing someone must have asked a question to prompt multiple comments about social media followers, but I can't figure out what that is.
It's been 11 matches with the club, he needs a proper thread title (beyond being on loan). Btw, how's the former no.1 doing in recovery?
If he played for Wolfsburg (or even Wolverhampton) or for any of the German teams from places famous for some type of sausage, this whole thread naming thing would be a lot easier. For the obtuse, I'm thinking "Steffenwolf: Zack at ______" (yes, awesome, I know) and "Steffen that (input sausage type here): Zack at ______".
Steffen will not be called into the next @USMNT camp due to knee tendinitis....expect the foreign contingent to be named later today. #USMNT— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) November 7, 2019

It's a precaution. He's been playing heavily taped, so the break is going to be used to rest & test. The USSF could have forced him to come, I guess, but that'd have been a bad move, risking further injury.
In my experience, tendinitis is not a thing that every fully goes away but can be managed through proper stretching, strengthening, and most importantly rest. I've gone years between bouts and I'm guessing for a full-time athlete it's really tough to get the time off to ever go real extended periods without it. Perhaps the Man City industrial complex can provide better than my crappy self care though
Just gotta time it around drug testing and he'll be good to go in a flash. Man City's surely good at that. I took 8 months off of running for mine and it didn't do a thing. Had to get some kind of electroshock therapy for my quads and do a ton of one-legged strength training and low-impact cardio for the pain to subside enough to run again.
Best I can tell Zach had two saves today. I watched the wild second half and not much he could on the goals, IMHO. He did one really good save off of a quick shot from a cross-bar rebound. Fun game to watch.
Ended 3-3. They're 14th. Interesting that their top-scorer, Hennings, has 9 league goals. 3rd in the league.
