What does all this have to do with what I said?

Back when we signed Ronaldo we smashed the transfer record. We can't even touch the current transfer record and we're talking about signing a player from the club that broke said record. Good luck with that.

Who tells you we can't break the current record? We had a bid accepted by Monaco for Mbappe in 2017. Spent 250 ME+ last summer. Flo would rather spend that much on Mbappe in a window than Jovic, Mendy etc. Just signed world record deal with Adidas.

If we had that space to move financially we would have bought Pogba. Truth is we don't.

Flo never saw Pogba as a Galactico type player. He didn't pay for Pogba in 2016 either but bid 180 ME for Mbappe in 2017 which Monaco said they had accepted. Also had enough to pay 100 ME for Hazard on his last year of contract. Thought you were the one saying Pogba isn't worth Galactico fee since he doesn't score like them. Well, Flo seem to think the same going by his bid for Mbappe when he was 18.

Neymar isn't protected in France like he was in La Liga, players going in hard in France aren't penalized like they were in Spain. Neymar never appreciated how much work went on off the pitch to protect him at Barca until he left.

I believe we have the ability to spend €250M. I question if we would actually go to that amount because the entire deal plus the wages would be so high it would be mindnumbing.

With Neymar this past summer it seemed obtainable due to the price we thought was quoted being €80M less. We also expected him to take a wage cut.

With Mbappe he ain't taking a wage cut.

    this mbappe talks are lame.
He won't decide/sign before the end of the season. if PSG somehow (long shot) wins the CL, he will not leave.
if they go out in the semi (or even lose the final), I think he'll stay as well and give it a chance.
early exit and then it will be come a money issue, he'll milk the oil dudes and they will gladly pay.
I see very low probability that he is coming to madrid in the near future.

Renewing would make him financially impossible. No way we are paying 400M ( assuming PSG is willing to sell ), plus absolutely brutal wages. As such, i really hope he does not renews and pushes for a transfer in 2020/21.

But as alternative, i am keeping a close eye on Haaland who has absolutely brutal potential.

These transfer fees don't make any sense, at some point the bubble will pop and the teams foolish enough to take on these obligations could very well fail.

Wow. ZZ is nice and gentle, but combative if he's pissed. Not sure irking PSG is a smart move though if we plan to sign Mbappe before 2022.

L'Équipe reveals the problems of PSG to renew Mbappé

According to L'Équipe this Friday, the PSG has as a priority objective to get Mbappé to stamp his signature in a contract extension (ends in 2022), but it will not be easy. As the French media says, PSG will not be able to offer him the same salary that Neymar currently charges, 30 million euros net, since the Brazilian benefits from the impatriation bonus, which allows him to exempt a third of his taxes .

Despite Leonardo's anger with Zidane, the reality according to L'Équipe is that there is no PSG offer to Mbappé ... and that not everything comes down to the economic aspect. Last year, after falling to Manchester United, the forward gave permission to trusted people to start handling an exit option. Although in private he continues to say that he has a strong bond with Paris and that he wants to succeed there, "the player wants to be in a structure that lives up to his own ambition" in the words of L'Équipe.

That is why another disappointment in the Champions League, at the beginning of next year, would lead Mbappé to rethink his future ... and with Real Madrid waiting.

There have been reports in previous years that Flo is in constant contact with Mbappe family and obviously doesn't want then to renew at PSG. Won't be surprised if ZZ has talked with Mbappe and knows that he wants out this summer.

The first time Zidane made the comments, there was some logic to it, PSG are in the process of offering Mbappe a huge deal and RM wanted to make sure he’d think very hard about accepting it with showing direct interest coming from the head coach. But now, Zidane acting this way now, is just pushing it unnecessarily to satisfy his own ego.

it’s simply not required to get into a heated match with PSG, the point has been made to Mbappe and he should have kept his mouth shut after that. If PSG want, they’ll be dicks to us the same way they were to Barca this summer.

    Heavily disagree.

He said nothing wrong. It's bad enough we are the bottom bitch in this "friendship" with Oil State; now we can't even speak of facts or direct quotes?

When they were using us to further their agenda this summer we remained quiet. They should learn from us and do the same.

If Zidane is saying it this confidently it's because he knows where Mbappe is already aiming.. and while Mbappe won't attempt to screw over PSG and run down his contract, the entire world of football won't let some terrorist owned mid-sized club in France derail the career of a young wonderkid just because their pride is hurt.

Would be amazing if Mbappe doesn't fall for PSG's usual "extension" trap like Verratti has. I believe Vadim's recent quote that Kaylian wanted to stay in France for a bit more then join us.

Mbappe ain’t renewing. I’m certain of it, it’s only a matter of time before he joins Madrid.

Zidane is a calculated guy, he doesn’t make these comments for nothing. There’s smoke here.

PSG is a jail that we've seen only one person escape (Rabiot). I'm still pessimistic, but if there are two people that have the charisma and intelligence to pull it off, it's Florentino and Zidane.
