It all depends on how good these young players are...Sancho is regarded as the top winger for the next transfer window, worth $100M pound..If he's the best winger available, Chelsea will surely try to buy him, with no regard of his age or the age of their current wingers.

If they feel so strongly against having 3 "under-21" wingers, they will simply sell 1 of Adoi/Pulisic to make room for Sancho (if they deemed him a superior player)

Doesn't seem like a really unfair point... take solace in the fact that CP is easily one of Chelsea's most productive attackers right now! Not bad.

    https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation...ransfer-targets-including-jadon-sancho-report

According to many reports which include the Chelsea-fansite link above, Lampard has been given $150M pound to use as soon as January, "if their transfer-ban is removed"....And Sancho is claimed to be among a 5-men target list.

Ajax knocked out Real Madrid and Juve away from home two sides filled with a lot of veterans with experience in the CL. And the biggest collapses last season in the CL were the experienced sides of Barcelona and PSG.

Pulisic and Hudson Odoi are probably both at their best on the left so someone like Sancho who is at his best on the right would make sense especially if Willian leaves. And it is how it works at top clubs you have to always look to prove. City bought Mahrez when they had Sane, Sterling and Bernardo Silva.

Curious, where do you get your dispossession statistics? As an example, I'm not sure how whoscored's statistical aggregate determines it, but it seems like an awkward statistic to calculate. I've seen numerous games with players who are constantly losing the ball end up with 0 or 1 dispossessions listed. A good recent example would be CHO against MU.

He's said the same things you have. That you couldn't recognize it the first time or second time is why he's done. He differentiated that Messi creates a ton of chances.

Patience, patience A quick look at the schedule suggests Pulisic could be starting games twice a week for at a least a month (including National team duty). Is this really the "fate" for a would be regular starter for a "Big" club week in and week out ? How many "Big team" starters can maintain a high level of performance twice a week ?

I checked the official Premiere league website to get the raw number of dispossession and compared it to the amount of minutes played for the worst offenders on their list of most dispossessed.

According to my passive calculation, CP is losing the ball at the third worst rate in the EPL, based on minutes played...Zaha is worst but he leads the EPL in successful take-on/dribbles.

WhoScored.com has "per game" dispossession but because CP has less minutes than the worst offenders and 3 sub appearances, "per game" is not a good barometer and gives CP an advantage because he's played less thus less time to get dispossessed per game.

Another caveat is the amount of time a player "attempts" to take-on a defender..

Do Chelsea represent much of a step up for Sancho? They may be targeting him, maybe hope he wants to return to the south of England or soemthing... but frankly a guy with the pick of just about any club in the world is probably not going to be leaving Dortmund to sign for Chelsea.

I wouldn't anticipate him reuniting with CP anytime soon.

He's supposedly close friend with CHO and according to report, he grew up a Chelsea fan.

He was seen taking a hair-cut with CHO not too long ago...They grew up in the same area in London.

He's also friend with Abraham....Doesn't look like CP and Sancho were close friend at Dortmund.

Not sure CP will be too happy seeing him again but I don't think Sancho cares.

Manchester United and Arsenal will probably miss out on Champions League....Liverpool and City have a lot of good players at his position.

Maybe Madrid or Barcelona goes after him...but Chelsea may still be the favorite.

I just checked back and it looks like it was another user that he quoted on his post who was pushing harder on the idea that CP's high turnover rate should be ignored because Messi turns the ball over much more.

So my fault...My post should had been more directed at the first guy that he quoted since the first-guy failed to mention Messi's high turnover-rate is fully justified because of his colossal production when it comes to chances created.

I did see that your guy did point out that Messi creates a boat-load of chances but it seemed like he was still agreeing with him that this particular stat may not be that important in CP's case...Maybe he didn't know how bad CP's turnover rate is....It's the third worst dispossession rate in the entire EPL per minutes played.

With much tougher competition coming soon, we need CP to take this stats as seriously as possible.

But I apologize to the second guy since he at least mentioned Messi does create a lot of chances in compare to CP....I replied to the wrong guy.

Yeah no worries happens. Appreciate the accountability. I agree with you that CP needs to keep working to get better in that area to take the next step in his game.

Yeah it's not really entirely OUTSIDE the realm of possibility. Sancho clearly wants to go back to England and to be honest if he went to Spain (that would be the only place he would go IMO eventually) I think he'd be a cultural fit like Bale.

So when you factor in that Sancho is English, wants to live in London, and wants to play at a high level his options right now are Tottenham, Arsenal, and Chelsea. Chelsea has a young core of guys he played and won youth international trophies with....

To be honest I think if Chelsea is interested they are competing with both of the Manchester teams.

Im not sure that I agree with Sancho's placelement. I think Liverpool could find a lot of time for him and slide some pieces over. He fits their style quite well as well as City.

What if Sane actually gets sold as well? Wouldnt that free up a spot for Sancho?

I don't think Pulisic is ready to start twice a week, especially in the EPL. He can barely jog the last 20-25 minutes against Ajax.

This kid need a reset. It's probably best for him to skip the Nations League.

I am glad that the mid point of the debate between CP skeptics and CP boosters has moved from “can he get on the field?” to “when should he get a rest?”. He has moved that needle by being himself on the field (though it would be wise for him to continue to credit Frank). If he doesn’t get injured and keeps getting minutes, he will keep menacing defenders, putting up numbers, and getting better. That was always going to be the case, given his mentality.

    Hot off the presses:

Lampard chosen PL Manager of the Month.

Mount is back in training, available tomorrow. (He left Ajax CL match injured.)

    Barkley is still out.

Rudiger will be out for a while, following groin surgery.

Loftus-Cheek finally running, but out for a while longer.

A company-paid trip to the Cayman Islands isn't the worst way to reset though.

recent previous success and current status i.e. playing time/team/etc has a much bigger impact on current performance than is often accredited.

the weight of potential failure is off of CP´s shoulders and he is FLYING HIGH....

but the same process applies (or could apply) to all players.

Talent plays a big role on getting the chance and making the most of it....

but I often wonder how many american players might be able to morph into something greater if they had the opportunity to shine at the very top levels of the sport....there´s something about proving it at the top level and what that does to a players´s confidence and performance that is indescribable.

sure many would flop and not make it if given the same chance CP has had---but some would surprise for sure and use that boost from the taste of success to become something greater. i have no doubt.

and to all the haters who disagree....just look at how hard you were hating on CP in the first few weeks of the season....the narrative around a player can be quite prohibitive to their success...(or group of players, when it comes to americans, imo)

Declining international call-ups as the team's best player is a great way to make your teammates think you're a snob.

You think anyone would care if he declines playing against Cuba and Canada in games we should easily win?

    Absolutely.

"I have to come play these games, why do you think you don't have to?"

Like if he gets sent back to Chelsea before the Cuba game, whatever, a team with 3 BigSoccer posters on the field would still probably win, but to unilaterally decline would be a terrible idea, especially after already losing to Canada last month.
