The Arsenal v. PSG and Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid matches should be quite good and competitive; the other two, I'd bet, will be less so. The quarters are scheduled for March??? Why such a crazy long break? We've been moving along with the earlier rounds--and now suddenly there is a four-month break? I've never heard of a competition that plays rounds and then breaks for four months before resuming again. Is it because winter has no arrived and we must wait for warmer weather again? My pet peeve with soccer is that these competitions drag on for far too long. How long is Champions League competition, once the matches have started--a year? I, for one, would be fine with condensing the competition-- playing one match to decide the winner of a round, instead of two ties, and in that way move the process along. I'd condense everything--qualification for Euro championship and WC as well! But I think the business side of the sport, all sports, likes this sort of long playoff process.
The length of the season is the strength in Euro woso, if you ask me. Imagine the nightmare of having a +6 month long off-season. I would rather retire. But climate is probably the main reason for the long gap between rounds now. It's very problematic in the Northern parts of Europe (and Russia) to play outdoors from Dec-Feb. Having the last eight from March onwards has pretty much been the standard since the Euro cup system was founded back in the 1950s.
There will be some games in November and December at the next Women's Champions League reform with Group Stage being introduced with six games to be played. These are the rumors flying around. And yeah, I did an Umea away game in November and it is not a nice weather to play football over there. Especially as you lose 6-0 as well. Average temperature there in November is 1C, 30F
We need a World's Champions League. WCL for short. Should include champions from around the world instead of Europe.
The Lyon - Bayern and PSG - Arsenal are very likely to be played behind closed door as the French government have forbidden events gathering more than 1 000 people.

No events with more than 1000 visitors allowed in Bavaria, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein and North Rhine-Westphalia. VfL Wolfsburg (men) will play their Europa League game without fans. The consequences for women`s football are still unclear. Sometimes it is an advantage if you have not so many fans.
2019/20 UEFA Women's Champions League Quarter-finals Current status: Postponed Latest info: Women's competitions working group to reschedule Final – Vienna Current status: Postponed There is a rumour going round that QF, SF and final could be played in one week on a neutral ground with single games only. Location would be Nyon, at the UEFA headquarters.
Ah yeah, this place https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centre_sportif_de_Colovray ^ (stadium's in the centre) Alexey M., cc-by-sa If Uefa officials want to watch the games, they shouldn't just move them outside their office window. Buy a ticket like everyone else. (I was reading some other games got moved there last year, when Spain and Kosovo had a political spat)
Well they do have to cross the main road to get to the ground. The UEFA offices are next to the lake. There is a small museum on the ground floor, a quality canteen at -1 level as well as the room where they do all the draws.
Let's starting training--with proper health protocols--and get ready to play. I believe the Eredivisie is soon to resume training with a published list of health guidelines from the KNVB that all clubs are supposed to abide.
News after wednesday meeting in UEFA house. Rumour has it that UEFA plans for finishing UWCL in form of tournament played in Vienna in August. Atlético Madryt – FC Barcelona Glasgow City – VFL Wolfsburg Olympique Lyonnais – Bayern Monachium Arsenal – PSG
I am curious to see if we will be allowed to attend those games. I hope so, but travel non opened everywhere at the moment. Saying that, it is at least two months away.
By the way, Vienna is one of my favourite cities. (Seriously: Vienna was my last travel before Covid-19 outbreak, on the New Year's festivity last December/January).
Usually August is the time when newbie transfers join a team. Wonder if their allowed to play? If so, Lyon/BM matchup might prove more interesting, whereas the current lackluster BM has bought up 2/3 of the entire German NT for the next season, Lyon has yet to sign again Marozsan & Bronze. both Arsenal & PSG are currently reeling from big time injuries(Little, Mead, Dabritz) it will depend who will have their player(s) back by August. Wolfsburg should destroy Glasgow City, Barcelona will feature perhaps the best winger combo in history in Martens & Hansen(though Rapinoe & Heath might say otherwise, lol)
At thus stage, no one knows if new signings will be allowed because the tranfer windows are managed by the national associations and then validated by FIFA. While new registrations for the tournament are validated by UEFA. Obviously the original window for new signings being allowed has gone, but could be reopened by UEFA. We will have to wait for the next executive comittee next month.
The telegraph is reportng August and September are options being assessed right now and a decision will be taken by 17 June.
Both German teams may quickly become the front runners for the final match in this tourney now that Bundesliga's playing again. On the other hand all the rest contenders will probably avoid lot of injuries during this time.
I think German teams will be ahead thanks to their match fitness if played in August. If played in September all the other will have had a full pre-season at least a month.
Marca announces Spain will be hosting the final 8 tournament, or precisely the Basque country. San Sebastian and Bilbao are set to welcome the tournament. Final either at Anoeta or San Mames. Dates 21 to 30 August QF 21 and 22, SF 26 final 30 August.
The UEFA Executive Committee will hold its next videoconference meeting in two parts, on the afternoon of Wednesday 17 June from 12:00 to 15:00 and on the morning of Thursday 18 June from 09:00 to 11:00 CET. Among the main points on the agenda of the first day of the meeting are: Update on club competitions • 2019/20 UEFA Women’s Champions League – quarter-finals onwards • 2020/21 UEFA Women’s Champions League – calendar Update on national team competitions • 2019/20 UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship and UEFA European Under-19 Championship – calendars and formats Note they have already cancelled the U-19 Euros in Georgia, so they only have to deal with the U-17 Euros in Sweden,
