I hate when announcers bitch about VAR causing controversy as though lousy officiating hasn't been the cause of controversy for literally the entire history of sports.
Crazy that Chelsea would be disappointed with a draw after being down by three, but they will. And they should.
The issue is that it's supposed to remove this though. If it isn't, it's negatives really outweigh the positives.
I love VAR. It can give a stale game life. I know...I know.. I know... I go against the grain of thinking.
VAR is not supposed to remove all controversy. That's silly. It's supposed to correct bad decisions, which it does well, overall. As with most things in life, don't let perfect be the enemy of the good. VAR has drastically improved this sport.
VAR won't be credible until the computers themselves get the final say on a play, otherwise it's once again the subjective opinion of a guy making the decision in many cases.
Throwing in more attackers while Chelsea defensively is weak this match could balance it out for Ajax.
Man, Ajax passing around their own end with 2 players down is living dangerously. Great saves by Ajax keeper.
I really disagree. It's been really good about finding technical handballs - but improving the sport? Not so much.
One of the craziest 4-4's you'll see. 2 OG's to same team, 2 RC's to same team, 2 PK's to same team (or was it three?)
