thanks, soccer lends itself to that sort of tech very well imo. very similar to basketball you can optimize the shots and movement.

of course, that goal rashford scored for man u and this goal for schalke, well, probability, imo, can't account for that. talent like that is an outlier, or perhaps the data does tell us that!

Yet I’ve seen some Halloween attempts by Europeans and boy do they fail.

Partially because 950+ of those times he looks for another pass first. What. A. Shot.

He just played in the cup match, and they didn’t play today?
Edit: sorry for the snarky comment

interested to see how Mascarell (gonzalez) plays that #6. Under Tedesco Goretza was a world beater. He didn't play a straight 6 as I recall but Gor was always that central player.

Great defensive positioning, incredible vision on the pass, and a good finisher. Buried at BM was not a great career move.

McK was started at that 6 when Goretzka was injured and really couldn't hold it down. Primarily because he couldn't distribute an attacking pass to save his life.

My hope is that after 3 or 4 years he will learn to make attacking passes from defensive midfield positions.

Dunno if there's enough interest for a pbp but Schalke look awful in D in the early going. Yikes.

McKennie has been shifted to left center back because of an injury to Sane.

Exactly what American fans wanted to see!

Sane goes down with an apparent bad knee injury. Caligiuri comes on, Mckennie now at CB.

and they lose their starting CB.

this S04 team has not looked credible since Goretzka left.

Sane went down in the first couple minutes, they shifted Wes to CB to fill in that position

WMK looking quite comfortable. Couple of nice long balls and very easy in circulation. With his hops, he is a natural.

He's been decent except a few of his passing decisions could have been better. He delivered the ball but he probably had better options.
