So, I had a large bet that Hjørring would not immediately gift Lyon a penalty by kicking someone, let's see how it turned out

Lyon's bad result at the weekend has increased the likelihood that they'll be running scared next Wednesday and only win the return game 3-0.

The last time Lyon had a "bad" domestic league result, they followed it up by absolutely shellacking a Russian team in the UWCL. I'm betting they better their score against Hjorring in the return.

I hear the Group stage move is high on the priority list at UEFA and it could be the same formula as the men ie 6 games instead of the old formula we had in the past with 3 games in a week. 2021/22 might be the season for change.

here's highlights of Man City's loss vs Athletico Madrid, knocking the first major team out of the CL

ironically I was complaining a few days ago just how bad Steph Houghton has become, & as anybody can, she don't disappoint, lol. But coach Cushing should take the blame as well as he decided to start the just returned from injury, White & Stanway, instead of Bremer, Beckie & Wulleart
AM's goal was scored by their league's mvp, Angela Sosa,(who somehow wasn't picked by the Spanish NT, but then, that's Euro soccer for ya lol)

Arsenal Amsterdam? The Ajax outfit isn't all that different from Arsenal's. :geek:

Brexit might change all that and send all the EU players back home, or at least a good number of them...

Arsenal picked up one Dutch player in the off-season, Roord, and two Dutch players left. They didn't extend Van Veenendal's contract, which was silly, and then Bloodworth got a better financial offer from Wolfsburg--I assume that's why she left.

It might have gotten a bit lost in how spaced out Bauser's (excellent) results posts are, but I just noticed that the 8 remaining teams represent just 4 nations (5 associations, but 4 nations). With no restraints on the draw, it's possible (though highly unlikely*) that each quarterfinal is between compatriot teams! X-D

*To be exact, I think the probability of perfectly paired QFs would be 1/105, or slightly less than 1%

Well Scotland and England... could be separated soon so that Scotland stays in the EU lol. The matchups should be fun and competitive.

So, out of all of the possible same-nation derbies, we've got the Spanish one, where Barcelona should be the clear favourite, at least according to the results of Spanish League.

And it was Wolfsburg getting the much coveted Glasgow City trump card. :giggle:

I see OL beating Bayern without much worries.

The most interesting quarter final should definitely be Arsenal-PSG: I can't see a clear winner here. Anyone does? :cautious:
