He tried to dribble 1v1 early in the second half and it bounced off his knee.

Welp the good news is that you have to be truly awful to not qualify to the next round. Mexico should beat the Solomon Islands and qualify as one of the best 3rd place teams.

And now missed the easiest goal in his life to tie the game.

No hay palabras para ese nivel de idiotez. Just based on the way it was lost this is one of the most embarrassing youth games I've seen.

There's no way Mexico loses this game. These kids have been following a proceso since the u-15s. I can bet money on that proceso................oh wait.

The #10 is wack as hell .. there’s no one special on this team .. hopefully we luck out on the next round with a strong attacking team but with a weak defense ..

TBH the tactical side was fine. The team for about 92 minutes was well ordered and created more chances than Italy. There just isn't any attacking talent. Couple of dudes missed wide open shots. And the same issues as always killed us, some dumbass gave away the ball in midfield, Italy countered and scored. Then a lack of concentration at the end mixed with our complete inability to compete physically.

It's disheartening to see Mexico in this predicament. Mexico has shown that it has the talent to be at the top of this game in these youth tournaments and non-National Team tournaments (F7, U17, Danone etc..) but for whatever reason (I think we all know at least part of the reason why), this team lacks something. I mean, if this sub17's hopes are qualifying as one of the the best 3rd places, what hopes does the team have of advancing in R16?

Looks like they officially just need to beat Solomon Islands to advance to the next round vs either Senegal or Japan.

it doesn't matter what they actually do this tournament. The main problem is that we have had many UWC cycles already where no ones goes to become an actual good player. so what's the point? underage world cups main purpose is to develop player which we have not

Chingao, although true, its like the Copa America in its early early editions when 3 teams used to play. You show up and you are guaranteed semi-finals.

I'm not sure why we are so worried about advancing in 3rd place when Paraguay hasn't looked amazing either. We can still make it in as 2nd.
