I have nothing against Seattle. After all, they invented MLS. The Galaxy are a team in need of a meteor strike. Hoping LAFC breaks their curse and grinds them into dust tonight. If not - I’m done until next year. James
Kinda hate to say it but Bradley (coach) has shown how well he can adapt to the players he has. As USMNT coach, the players were outmatched in most positions, so we had the Empty Bucket. But now with LAFC, he’s changed tactics and mode completely.
Their FO also was able to pick up players like Kaye, Atuesta, Blessing, Nguyen, etc. that we would call deck chairs and Bradley gets them into All-Star form.
I give the the Nationals and especially their ownership the same gesture Zlatan gives LAFC fans after a playoff loss - but I have enjoyed seeing local sports fans happy for a change, and if that can happen while the 'skins still suck I guess I'm fine. I was happy for the Mystics but that only made the news for a day, this "world" series thing has knocked all real legitimate news off every local channel for the past week.
That is probably for the best. I heard some kindergarteners had a tantrum and stormed a SCIF in the Capitol and had a pizza party there. It was probably Papa Johns as Kinder kids have no taste.
My dislike of the skins pre-dates Snyder; probably to 1983 when I moved to the area and saw players on the news, before then I never really thought about them one way or the other but the smugness turned me off.. My hate of Snyder pre-dates his buying the skins, when he was just an unscrupulous telecom guy.
I saw an interview of Sebastian Salazar to Bob Bradley, he asked him a question about Vela, he was answered to get lost (twice), now I understand better why people don't like him much, I always knew he was not Mr Simpatia, but I didn't realize he's instead a real d1ck...
I like Sebi. The interview was the immediate post-game on field interview. I'm nowhere near as outraged as some over the exchange. I didn't especially care for the question although it easily could have been handled as a softball. Cheatin' Bob wasn't having it for his guy in that moment. Some laugh at and love Zlatan's shtick, but I found his comments and actions much more disturbing.
I was at the game and thought that it would’ve been easy to point out Vela’s accomplishments. It seemed like an innocuous question set him off. Maybe the adrenaline?
He didn't like being questioned about his own words, re: Vela, from earlier in the season - Seb gave him a great opportunity to stand up for one of his guys and say his own earlier worries were baseless - but as Bradley often does, he was an ass instead.
After the season Vela had, it just seems like the question is unnecessary and even trolling in nature rehashing an old quote/statement that wasn't really relevant at the time.
I'd rather have Kaye. Dio's been terrific this season but I feel like if you put him on Cincinnati, for example, he would fall to Cincinnati's level. Mark Anthony Kaye would make Cincinnati better. He's just so damn smart.
Yeah, but Dio can dribble, move off the ball, be a hold up guy, and a full on striker. Kaye can do the midfield work but Dio keeps defenses awake and alert. James
I really should watch more non-DC United MLS because when I saw this my first thought was Ronnie James.
That's part of why I said it was a potential softball. I'm not sure Sebi knew in the moment that those were words that Bradley had used as well.
