Toronto completely dominated New York in the first 45 and scored a goal off a Chanot mistake early in the second half. Notably, the Bradley-Delgado-Osorio trio were completely outplaying Ring-Parks-Moralez. But NYCFC is starting to push hard and Toronto may be running out of gas after playing 120 on Saturday.
How good is Richie Laryea? that's a Twellman shout out for a guy we'll see in November in Orlando. p.s. Fun game which is saying a lot considering it was the ManCity kiddie pitch special. pps. I thought Parks should have stayed on when Toronto started falling back in the second half. He set up one of their better "turn and shoot" efforts which is what I expected would do Toronto in. Mercifully, they pulled him off. He was pretty useless when Toronto were dominating offensively in the first half. Conclusion for USMNT fans: Parks is an offensive player.
MLS went all in on "without Jozy, Toronto has no chance". I'm looking forward to their 3stooge-splaining, lol
Allicia rodriguez with another of her excellent recaps here. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...oronto-fc-2-2019-mls-cup-playoffs-match-recap Hey...'licia…..send in the clowns.....Mo Wiebe, Larry Gass or Curly Doyle but first splatter a coconut cream pie in their respective faces before we have to listen to their 'splainin…..lol
I am ashamed to say that I have not watched RSL much this year but based on the first half I would take 37 yo Beckerman over Trapp at DM on the USMNT. Kyle still covers a ton of ground making himself available to participate in offensive combination passing. He still has fantastic one-touch passes, made accurate switches and quick over-the-tops to Baird. Most important, he stuffed Loderio on a full speed attacking dribble into zone 14! Roldan has had zero impact on the match. Morris is unbelievable fast and is just an elite attacking force in MLS. I remember when folks was complaining that Klinsmann was calling up Morris just to disrespect MLS!
Beckerman with the dirty, sneaky tackle on Roldan. Could've caused serious injury. Morris showed some impressive ball skills. Dude has been really putting the work in to improve his game. Still would like to see him at striker at international level.
Impactful game by Roldan w/ his ball pressure, wins, possession, outlets, and dribbling. The Roldan of old. Wish he'd bring that more often for club and country lately. Whoscored rated him a 7.5. Think that was pretty fair. If anything it could have been a bit higher. Glad Sounders are advancing. Not a lot of domestics who play, but 2 regular national teamers, and they're fun to watch. LAFC v. Galaxy doesn't have a lot of USNT flavors either, but that's the one everybody has been waiting for w/ the heat between Zlatan and Vela. If Zlatan wants to call himself best ever in MLS, he's at least gotta win this match and make the conference finals.
im not trying to diminish diabetes, but do we really need to talk about it like hes overcoming losing a leg in the war? we need an obstacles overcome index. where does diabetes rate compared to tourettes?
There are two types of diabetes. His is a very difficult type to manage on an every day basis and is very different from what most people think of when they think of diabetes
TFC plays very well against NYCFC, especially in NY. The most obvious reason is the small field mitigates Bradley's lack of defensive range. Something to keep in mind when evaluating Parks's defense or any midfielder's defense on NYCFC.
Oh TFC......................... A reminder that @samstejskal and I reported back in July that Michael Bradley's $6.5 million option is automatically triggered if #TFCLive wins MLS Cup. Just two wins away now: https://t.co/pkIX9cVF1s— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) October 24, 2019
I'm all about players getting paid. A 33/34-year-old DP who is on the decline is good for the other teams in the East Wow what a move
My uninformed guess would be that diabetes would be the more difficult obstacle to overcome. As far as I know (which isn't very far), the obstales that tourettes syndrome provides would be mostly social. Anyone that has a severe enough case of tourettes to be a significant obstacle would be past the worst by they time they are a professional...especially a professional in Europe. (I'm talking about a typical US player). Diabetes, on the other hand, is something that must be monitored on a constant basis. Obviously it varies case by case but changes in blood sugar (which can occur over the course of a game) can be life threatening. I have played in a game where paramedics had to be called because a player collapsed due to issues with his blood sugar. I would guess that it is at least a little easier for Morris to deal with this in the US, on a team where his father is the team doctor.
I think Toronto fans would be willing to risk a few years of rebuilding for a 2nd MLS title. But I really don't think they will need to rebuild. I did notice two distinct "fuk you Bradley" chants from the NYCFC faithful.
He has Diabetes 1. It's way different than Diabetes 2 that most people have and way more dangerous. Two different diceases actually. https://www.healthline.com/health/difference-between-type-1-and-type-2-diabetes
If it is TFC vs LAFC in the Final, how does Bob coach against his son making $6.5 million? He might get a TAM deal around a $1 million if they lose, or might be looking for a job somewhere. That is quite a lot of money you would be denying your son and his family.
That was Ibarra. But that being said, it's good to see Morris putting together a solid run of excellent form. I'd agree with you on Beckerman; I watched the game last weekend and was sort of surprised to see how effective he still was in his role.
Yeah, I suspect that if they win MLS Cup again.................TFC will accept that Bradley will be on the roster for another year. We tend to forget what a disaster TFC was before Bradley & crew got there. He isn't the sole reason this franchise turned around, but he's one of them.
Besides that moonshot in the 2016 MLS Cup shootout, he's been good for TFC. Vanney seems good at putting him in position to succeed.
They could split the pot. p.s. There's one thing to remember when thinking about paying Bradley: He played almost every game plus internationals since he came to Toronto.
