Why is England playing friendly games preparing for EURO 2021 and UK not doing anything to prepare for the 2020 Olympics?
Wales and Northern Ireland played eachother this weekend bur Scotland didn't play so there was a good time to test out some Scottish players and working them into the team for the Olympics.

We ( press ) spoke to Phil Neville at the TSG conference before the best awards and the plan is to have a friendly before the Olympics and that's about it. That is the agreement between the associations apparently. As we know most of them are opposed to Team GB, so I guess they don't want to release them before the tournament.

Basically, the top three are running away already, five teams are mid table with six points and four teams in the mix for the relegation place.

Geez does that table look soooo different than it would just five years ago. The effect of men's clubs taking over has really upended the WoSo landscape...

Very much so. When the FA WSL was created back in 2011, the teams were all semi-pros training twice a week in the evening. Nowadays there all full-time professional.

Many teams in the FA WSL 1&2 were actually demoted and not relegated on the pitch. Back in 2013, Doncaster Belles were demoted one game into the season to make way for Manchester City for the upcoming 2014 season.

In 2011 the final table was

    1. Arsenal
    2.Birmingham
    3. Everton
    4. Lincoln ( franchise was transferred)
    5. Bristol Academy ( absorbed later by Bristol City)
    6. Chelsea
    7. Doncaster Belles ( demoted later due to lack of funds, twice)
    8. Liverpool

    Then in 2014

    1. Liverpool
    2. Chelsea
    3. Birmingham
    4.Arsenal
    5. Manchester City
    6. Notts County ( folded later )
    7. Bristol Academy ( absorbed later )
    8. Everton

    FA WSL 2

    1. Sunderland ( demoted later)
    2. Doncaster ( demoted later)
    3. Reading
    4. Aston Villa
    5. Yeovil ( demoted later )
    6. Durham
    7. Watford (demoted later)
    8. Millwall ( franchise transferred)
    9. Oxford ( demoted later)
    10. London Bees

    League cup this week-end:

London City Lionesses have sacked their manager, they are fourth in the table with four wins in six. Not good enough... and to be fair he is not.

So stoked by the Man Utd Women result vs City. Ladd-Zelem-Groenen may well hold its own against any team in England, and for the second time this season, Man Utd Women have held City to literally no clear cut chances. (Weir’s goal wasn’t clear cut in my opinion. City have scored once in two games while not forcing Earps into a single elite save.)

    couple of highlight vids;
in historic win, Man U beats City, 2-0, though the main talking point was City & NT starter Keira Walsh getting a 3 game suspension for her tackle > did it look all that bad?

Chelsea win over Arsenal for top of the league standings

possibly another great news for Chelsea might have the inside track in signing Sam Kerr(as she said she preferred them), but the reported $530K offer for two years probably will be less than what PSG & Lyon will be offering

Is that $530K /over/ two years for Kerr or $530K per year?

Like Lyon needs another good player! They've already more good players than they need.

Yes, it was that bad. I disagree with others that it was intentional, but it was very poor. Walsh lunged in at considerable pace and caught Hanson’s ankle with her studs clearly exposed.

right now it's probably just speculation on hoiw much money Chelsea is offering. A story broke out in June that said Chelsea offered one million dollars, but both sides denied that it was too large of a sum.

Hegerberg makes a reported $400k an year at Lyon. Will Lyon offer more?
yeah, your right, this picture shows Walsh, with studs open, came too late for the tackle. Still, 3 game suspension going to hurty City, their coach clains Walsh is his best player, & that was even when Lucy Bronze was on the team

Liverpool v Everton at Anfield on the same day as Spurs v Arsenal at White Hart Lane 17 Nov. Big attendances likely.

Offer more than a player who’s been there for five years and produced crazy stats for them? That might make someone a bit annoyed.

I don’t dispute the three match suspension will hurt City a bit; Walsh has been fairly impressive for the most part whenever I’ve watched her.

That’s too much even for a British club. Considering their financial situation. Actually considering financial situation for all the clubs in FA Superleague.

England women sell out Wembley for first time as 90,000 fans snap up tickets for Germany clash – The Sun

lets hope all 90K actually show up, lol, otherwise got the feeling it's more of people showing support for woso from all around by buying tickets, but then living too far to make it to the actual game.

I don't expect that exciting of a game --- both teams play the sort of plotting, first control the mid, style which probably lead to fewer shot attempts. Both like to bring up their defenders into the attack , but then get clobbered on the counters. One difference might be is while EN's players position are more defined(wingers will be wingers), GE"s are very interchangeable with most of their attack coming straight up the middle.

where as Germany is suffering due to due lack of interest/small attendance(5K at NT games, 1K average at pro club matches) not enough inverstors, England seems to really getting into woso with the big crowds & extra money being spend. But still Germany's NT future looks brighter ---while Neville don't know what to due with his young pugs, Stanway, Staniforth & Kelly, GE coach, MVT, is certainly getting a lot of mileage out of her's(Buhl, Gwinn & Oberdorf), plus their recent youth squad shooting straight into the u19 Euro finals(without the 3 previous players mentioned) whereas England flopped, Then MVT still got wild cards in the metoric rise of the Hoffenheim club(full of none as of yet, NT Germans).
Beth England is showing promise that she might be the successor for the ailing Jody Taylor/Ellen White at central striker, but got the feeling she'll loose her starting spot at Chelsea if indeed, Sam Kerr joins that club, hence could dampen her career.

    Table

Huge win for Birmingham City in the battle of the bottom two teams. There are three wins without a win after five games. Liverpool,Bristol and Brighton.
Arsenal beat City and go back to the Champions League places, while Chelsea win at city put them top of the table.

geez, Houghton's defense got from bad to worse as Miedema strips her dry from the ball around the 2.50 mark of these longer highlights

havn't seen any new league games lately on yotube. but here's the full
Arsenal/Cheslea match from a couple of weeks ago. Definitely worth watching, as very up tempo, quick transistion on offence & defense from both sides(as compared to the endless back passing we see from other games).

Both were multi national squad, Arsenal had 3 Dutch starters, Chelsea's Norwegian delegation did quite well, especially Reiten, a player I havn't payed attention to before.

Arsenal more in charge in the first half, Chelsea takes over in the 2nd, especially with their strong subs. Ji & Kirby dominate the midfield, but England finally got a new promising striker in the aptly named Beth England(Neville got to be blind going with the ailing White/Taylor combo)

even though on the loosing side, Williamson proving once again she's her country's best CB with getting back to thwart counters, as well as excellent tackles. In comparison, Neville fav, Millie Bright, at least didn't score her patented own goal, but a offside call saved her from a for sure PK after she tripped Miedema on one particular play.

Both teams played a bit too rough, officials need to take more charge, otherwise the high injury rates will continue,

In the past, you somehow had only noticed her for her first name (the full name is Guro Reiten), but actually she was functional in winning the latest two LSK-Kvinner/Lillerstrøm's national titles in Norway (actually the last two and a half, if you factor in the part of 2019 season she played in Norway before transferring to England) and she's a rising star in Norway's NT.

Well, as you rightfully noticed, if a player named England can't make England NT, I am really not sure who can!
