Manchester United job is not too big for me - Ole https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...er-have-never-felt-manchester-united-job-big/ Wouldn't expect him to say otherwise tbh. Very much remains to be seen whether it is actually the case or not though.
I think Ole deserves time but if we continue to slide and languish bottom half and somehow Poch is available and we dont react... i would be livid but thats exactly what i fear would happen...
It would be another situation where United goes after someone that they lollygagged about when they should have really gotten them. I guess that means they will be signing Bruno next summer?
He's coaching like his dad owns the fcking team and he knows he won't be fired. We're in 14th place and will in all likelihood have our asses handed to us by our hated rivals and will have 9 points from 9 matches. I don't think time will change his tactical naivety and the steaming pile of shit this club is right now won't bring in decent players in our current state. Moyes, LVG and Mourinho never had the club in this bottom-feeding state. We need a strong, experienced manager in the near future because we're on a road to an extended state of irrelevance that will take an eternity to shake.
i think he deserves more time and injury hasnt been kind to us aswell with this depleted inexperience and average squad (oles choice) and we need 4-5 players to compete and its just baffling to sack him now..
While I don’t think Ole is the right guy for the job, part of me wants him to get a few seasons just to see what happens. At this point, why not try something different. It’s clear our protocol since SAF has been a disaster, let mix it up. At the very least it will shut up all the pundits that say the managers need to be given more time.
Solskjaer’s programme notes 📝 “I recognise that from the outside looking in, it may seem to be all doom and gloom for Manchester United. However, being here inside the club, we have a different view of things & we can see that eventually we will get to where we want to be” #MUFC pic.twitter.com/hjooAK08MO— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) October 20, 2019 It's all well and good to say that, but it's time we start seeing something from the outside as well. Not even asking for the finished product (or anything even close really). Just want to see something that we can hang onto and actually make us believe we're headed in the right direction. We saw some of that in preseason and early in the season, but that is gone right now. In terms of our play alone, we've regressed to the worst days from the previous managers. The current circumstances mean Ole has some time ahead of him: just show us something, anything.
It's 'something' but I want to see what Ole and the team do over the balance of a few games. A reaction today was expected: even if it was more than I anticipated, if I'm perfectly honest. As stated in the match thread, if we turn around and lay an egg vs Norwich, today meant absolutely nothing. TBD for now: let's see where we are and how the team performs by the time November rolls around.
It is not a big surprise that we have been better against teams like Chelsea and Liverpool who come at us than teams that bunker, given we are designed to counter-attack. So we need to make some significant and consistent progress against teams who defend deep against us - given that has been a big problem and is a major part of the points over a season, starting with Norwich. Would say though that Ole deserves some credit for his tactics against LIverpool in terms of the back 3 to man mark their front three and the wing-backs pushing higher to keep their fullbacks at home. Worked very well as their fullbacks are pretty key to the early phases or their attack. Hopefully other teams will have watched that.
Could have been some Mou influence too (via Carrick etc.) - given I think we used the split striker thing to work the channels under Mou too. Which also keeps their full-backs at home. As they can't risk their CBs getting isolated one-v-one. Just a shame we didn't have a Pogba to ping better quality long passes to Rash/James in the channels.
The youngters will learn from this difficult period - Ole https://www.skysports.com/football/...-difficult-transition-will-benefit-youngsters
Is Ole still the right man for the job? https://www.fourfourtwo.com/feature...-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-tough-job-right-manager Still want to see where we stand and how things generally feel by seasons' end. Ole has definitely done some good things in his time in charge so far, but on the other hand there are still some question marks that need to be answered. Not least of which whether he really is the guy to take the club back to the top in the long run. He does get the benefit of time however, first with no clear replacements readily available at this time. But also because he's had to deal with circumstances that are not really in his control. Curious, if nothing else, to see how things proceed as the season progresses.
Am still in the Ole camp, but he has to start making progress in the right direction (usual caveat - as much as he can given Woody/Glazers constraints). The situation is what it is though - hopefully challenge accepted How will Ole be feeling this morning? Liverpool about to win their first title in 30 years, United's worst start in 33, Poch available, and the man you replaced taking over a rival a couple of points behind you. Pressure is on— The United Stand (@UnitedStandMUFC) November 20, 2019
Hiring Pochettino right now would be another band-aid on a sinking ship and another short term fix by Ed. Poch wants to win now and United are in the middle of a reboot. We need to let Ole finish clearing out the deadwood and establish a culture within United again.
