the two off the top of my head- season opener or an early cup match, dribbled across the box from the left drawing in 3 defenders, split two with a reverse pass leading to an easy finish. another on the left wing, beat his man to the line, cut back, low, hard cross to bats (in traffic)for a near post finish. maybe youre less ignorant and full of crap on the other two and can enlighten us?
It's a waste of time talking to trolls. I've already explained TWICE that this is the first time he assists a goal at this level feeding a guy coming from behind. not only looking up front. This is big, because when Puli draws defenders, the hole that is created is one that can be exploited by a guy running in from midfield. I've had enough of you. To the ignore bin you go.
I wish. What he was doing when there was no one visible in front or to the side of him was try to dribble, and lost the ball. That's what got him benched, the turnovers.

What is with your agenda? He has played very differently at Chelsea than he did at Dortmund. He is playing more simply and looking to make passes. He lost the ball a couple of times vs Liverpool, but also passes the ball in every direction and drew multiple defenders before putting Giroud in on goal.
When Roldan was standing out among other Americans in MLS as an all-around player, Holden was tamping down on the enthusiasm for his prospects w/ the national team. Now that he's declined for whatever reason (staying too long, ironman on turf, pressure, etc.), showing to be more limited, and on a long-term contract heading toward MLS lifer status; he's having every minor positive contribution he makes for club and country over-glorified. I guess the deal is Holden maintains his job at Fox as an overpaid, sub-par commentator for MLS/USS games and in exchange he helps keep cheap, marketable, domestic talent in MLS plus steers the Athletes' Council to choose an establishment member like Cordeiro against their own interests.
And this is today's, at 1:23. I agree with the people saying Puli was aiming the pass to Alonso and CHO just happened to find the ball, the pass was going in the right direction with the right weight: It was a pass across the box to a guy coming from behind. I loved it.
He is absolutely not our most accomplished player. He is only 21 years old. He may well be later, but not now.
Doyle now on the "win balls in midfield" bus but his stop never comes up as he combs thru the player pool looking for ball winners. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...ens-national-team-still-spinning-their-wheels Is this extract really correct regarding Bradley? I thought he leads the MLS in recoveries as per another poster on this thread? Tyler Adams is literally a world-class ball-winner. Paxton Pomykal looks like he will be there soon. If you just slot them into the US midfield things naturally improve by about 90% because winning the ball in those situations is a fundamental piece of who they are as players. It has never been so for Michael Bradley (he prefers to contain rather than challenge) and does not appear to be so for Cristian Roldan or Weston McKennie. I would say this about Matt Doyle's recent come-to-jesuah moment, however: The job is to win balls AND pass thru midfield. Just saving you some time, Matt. Don't want to see egg on your face again as you forget about that second part.
pulisic has 13 bundisliga goals (2 champions league). dempsey has 0. i get your point and agree, but cmon. hes still got more than 3 years before hes the age dempsey started in the epl. if you need to win an argument now start with pulisic may go his entire career playing in 1 world cup (of 5 chances he should have). hes probably gonna pass dempsey (and donovans, for that matter) individual stats for the nats, as well.
It's a sad state when Tab is viewed as a good option. I thought that the U-20s under-achieved. Tab was very Berhalter-ish. Chained to a system of getting fullbacks up into the attack, single 6, leaving no cover for the defense when we lost the ball. People flayed Keita for his defense. But, Keita, a CB had to constantly go up and out to the sideline to provide coverage for the LB's runs. Constantly. There are much much better options out there that Tab.
Since it seems many regard Doyle as the ultimate MLS insider/apologist, could this be taken to imply that he's received information that the NT will finally move off Bradley?

I like Pulisic's potential, a great lot. I like the way he plays, a lot. But let's do something radical.... let's actually look at what is achieved before we proclaim the achievement greater than that of other players.[which I admit is old school, and so just not what a Proper Millenial would do] For example, in two short loan appearances for Everton [total of 17 match appearances] Landon Donovan had 2 goals and 6 assists. This as very much someone the team knew would only be there for a brief period, and so could not be integrated into their regular playing structure. Dempsey had 57 goals, in the EPL, and a season with over 20 goals total scored. And he did it with an ordinary side, Fulham, against on average significantly better opposition. McBride had 36 goals and 6 assists. Heck, others [who were just considered "ok" ] did some damage Reyna 7 goals, 4 assists Roy Wegerly, 16 goals and 6 assists Yedlin, 1 goal and 6 assists. And even some considered terrible failures, such as Altidore got a couple of goals. As for the Bundesliga, Wynalda in 32 appearances had 9 goals and 2 assists. The famously infamous Clint Mathis had in 21 appearances 5 goals and 2 assists. Pulisic is potentially the best [non goalkeeper]player we have produced in terms of european football, but potential and its realization are two completely different things.
