Disappointing. Sargent needs to be 70 yards back focusing on his defensive efforts and not providing an outlet.

Weird that a forward can get involved in the attack with a competent midfield behind him. Revolutionary tactics if you ask me.

Nice goal - simple but well taken from the pass to the positioning to the shot (deflected a bit.)

I believe that's what we in the business call "sarcasm"

I think schrutebuck is making a joke about how Sargent was rarely in advanced enough positions against Canada to generate goalscoring opportunities or even relieve pressure as an outlet.

He doesn’t know how to play against teams that suck. Probably because of his young age and inexperience.

Frame this day and hang it in your room. Not only Sargent scored, but Yedlin had a good game, Puli did good in his 20, Miazga and Terrence scored, and Carter-Vickers had his first good game in a long time. The only sour note is Ream, but otherwise today has been one of those rare very good days for the Yanks in Europe.

Fulham played a weird formation. Probably under pressure from not scoring enough, despite having so much possession, and with sessegnon out...

Parker played a 3-4-3 with a LB (Byran) being part of the 3.

Knockaert and Cavaliero were outside mids/WB's which is not where either of them are used to playing.

It was an experiment and it's safe to say it failed.

But not as interesting as posting about posting about the Fulham game in the Sergeant thread in the Sergeant thread!

Was a really nice goal by Sarge. Helped by the deflection but liked how he took that space.

sorry was OT, just responding to an overall summary of YA this weekend that Suyuntuy mentioned.

Good to see Sargent rebound with a goal and take his opp with injuries.

If all he accomplishes this year is locking down 30 plus appearances for next year it's a great year.

It sucked that on the Hertha goal Sarge was sooo close twice to break up the attack. He got the ball the just before the shot but didn’t kick it hard enough. The defenders were kind of poor and the shot went in. I felt for the kid. He tracked back strong but came up short. I’m not saying the goal was his fault, just that he was unlucky.

So glad he got the goal and had a solid game.

A win today and Schalke climbs to the top of the Bundesliga too, but Hoffenheim at home is a tough one.

I don't believe it works like that. He'd have to go to officer training first.

His best bet is being a Gunnery Sargent
