We have zero chances at the World Cup or even being competitive in the Qualifiers, look at how many teams have elevated their game Canada probably has their best team ever right now and Haiti and Jamaica are solid teams. Panama, USA Honduras and Costa Rica have been mediocre but would still beat us.
Todays game gave them a measly five points, as for Canada it sounds like they will get eighteen for beating the US. Me acaba de contar @2010MisterChip que con este gol Canadá supera a El Salvador en el ranking FIFA. 🤦🏻♂️— Fernando Palomo ESPN®️ (@fernandopalomo) October 16, 2019
As it stands. 1340 Canada 1336 El Salvador 1323 Curaçao So now El Salvador needs to win and Canada needs to lose also Curaçao is another team to watch out for. Meanwhile Panama sits at 1316 points they face Mexico later tonight.
Sack de los Cobos and get a another Spaniard who is gonna abandon you on the short run?is that your solution? Let the Mexican work, he’s the only dude who got you guys to the hex in 09.
Still a chance if USA delivers at Home vs Canada unless Can has some friendly game where they get more points. Our last two games are at Home so we have to get it done.
All Canada needs is probably a draw I believe that nets them six points but given how pathetic of a showing the US had Canada can probably pull off the upset.
Boy where was this stand for your countryman stuff with El Cuate. DLC has shown to be a stubborn coach with little to no answers when he faces adversity, add in to the horrid player call ups not sure why letting him work will improve anything they’ve already stagnated ala Chepo. That Hex was a decade ago different players, different times, different tactics and his haven’t evolved at all. Oh yeah that loss to DR is now looking large.
Our previous coach could get us promotion. Cobos did something special a few cycles back but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a terrible coach now. How is it possible you only thought he only lost against Honduras? Did you think someone else was coaching when we lost to the Dominican Republic? Did you not know we lost to the Dominican Republic and now you are just trying to defend your previous post? I seriously don’t understand if you are just puffing your chest because he is a fellow Mexican, you don’t want to lose face or are trolling. If De Los Cobos was fired any sane coach would call in our best goalie and striker and we would already be in a far better position than with De Los Cobos just by those two things alone.
USA looked like they rolled over lol Anyways, it's good news. I don't want to see ES embarrassed further in the deep end of the pool. This group of players need to age out and step aside. All they were, were blabber and selfies.
USA has been mediocre for a while and Canada is legit they have some solid players and it’s easily their best generation ever.
You say age out but...this is still a young group? I mean there’s only 4 players over the age of 30. If we were to somehow make it to the WC, we would still only have 6 players who would probably go and be over the age of 30. Simply put, i blame the coach and the players. Players who should be showing their quality are lacking. EVERYONE played bad yesterday. Pineda, both ceren, Monterrosa. Our defense gets played out quite a bit. I agree with someone else and say our LB played pretty bad for someone who is expected to be better. Really missed Jimenez back there. And tamacas as well.
What ever happened to Alexander Larin and Kevin Santamaria. Did they both burn out? Larin seem to be moving up until his injuries and Kevin with his doping situation held him back from playing for a good while. Did Dustin ever find a club?
Dustin Corea is still only 27 damn, it looks like he might have given up on a soccer career same as Maikon Orellana.
I can understand Maikon thought he would pick up injuries at the worst times and that ********s with you mentally. As for Dustin he just never matured how we hoped he would have also I think the dread of homesickness plagued him just like it has other guys with decent to promising careers (Rafa Burgos, Victor Turcios)
Damn don’t remind about Rafa and Turcios, I still remember believing that Rafa was going to be next big thing when he debuted for the NT in Copa CentroAmericana and when he went to Hungary and had that one solid season I believed that he was headed that way.
To me Turcios journey hurt fans more. He could have ended up in Turkey but the usual story from the clubs back in El Salvador they wanted more money, so instead he went to Finland where ended up being a pretty integral cog playing in the midfield for RoPs. He was also diverse since he played as a CB with the NT, something you don’t see from most players in El Salvador and we need more of those badly. He also had a real good work ethic and he showed it by doing everything he could to come back from his knee injury in shape compared to everyone’s favorite Fito. I’m just glad he at least got some hardware for his hard work when he won the Finnish Cup.

Funny I was just thinking about who we could face that could help us get points one team was Trinidad and Tobago and the other one that came to my mind was Bolivia even though I know that this game is still risky since we have been playing bad.
Any game is risky bc we play horrible with DLC. But if there’s a team we might be able to fight it out with, and get decent points, it’s Bolivia. Are there any CNL games in November?
Another player is close to nationalisation and playing for La Selecta; 18 year old Bryan Gil of FAS. Born in Colombia and is the son of Cristian Gil Mosquera, and younger brother of Chalatenango player Cristian Gil. What are your thoughts of him? Speaking of potential nationalisations, whatever happened to Bladimir Diaz?
Both Gil brothers were denied despite the fact they have grown up in El Salvador which makes little sense when you see some of the others who have been naturalized. Diaz left to Thailand effectively ending any chance of that, I think he needed a little longer to be eligible but don’t quote me on that. I always was under the impression he had met the requirements but never heard of any paper work or anything being put into place to move forward with it.
