For those wondering about Steffen going back to Man City, they have to very good goalkeepers on opposite sides of Steffen's age. Obviously Ederson is there, just two years older than him, but also Arijanet Muric (20) is currently on loan with Nottingham Forrest. While it would be nice to have someone on the Man City's traveling roster, I think that's years away at this point.
I think Muric is really someone to watch. For me, he's a cusp good/great goakeeper, but obviously still has a lot to grow into. He's been benched at Forest after starting the season, but again, he's 20. He was a big reason why Kosovo - who entered the UEFA Nations League as the third worst nation - ran the table with 15 points in 6 matches and are now a serious contender to get promoted in back to back performances. Ultimately Man City did a really smart thing in spending chump change (for Man City's wallet) to pick up Steffen. Basically he's got two routes going foward. Either he keeps getting loaned out until he's ready to start, which would be in 5-8 years given Ederson's abilities. Or he's sold, in which Man City makes a $30-50 million profit. Great business. But I'm not holding my breath for him to start at City, especially with his distribution miscues.

Dusseldorf and Steffen just secured three points and their first shutout of the season (against a Mainz side that was playing a man down for at least 45 minutes). No idea how Steffen played. Edit: sorry phrased that poorly before. They did get one win prior to this.
Zack Steffen posts the first Bundesliga shutout by an American keeper in over 12 years, since Kasey Keller with Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2007. 🇺🇸— Paul Carr (@PaulCarr) October 19, 2019
Mainz barely attacked before or after the red, so Zack didn't have much work to do. Morales is sick BTW (flu?).
He's not going to make team-of-the-week with those numbers. Too bad his German improved, or he might have continued shouting "lass ihn schießen" at Fortuna's defenders all season.
See @Suyuntuy and @mace post for context. I mean good for him, and we all know he's still that guy right now, but no sure what else there is to say.
Wednesday Cup game v Erzgebirge - might Steffen sit that one out. Is the injured GK back yet? Who's the presumptive #2 GK at this point?
Half-watching. Up 1-0 on a PK at HT. A rough-and-tumble affair. Lots of thuggery and gesticulation. Steffen helped by the post on a header, but not that much to do yet.
Good save by Steffen against a one-on-one towards the right side of the box leads to a Koln corner. It was a bit of a weak effort. Dusseldorf defend the corner, and Koln make it 2-0 on the counterattack.
