There's always two sides to every coin. Saying things like this is Canada's World Cup qualifier makes me think that all the pressure is on them. They historically have played like garbage under pressure in must win situations. The US can just go out there and build on the 7-0 confidence booster and not have to be nervous on Tuesday. I say at worst it is a draw but hoping the USA puts a dagger into Canada's World Cup dreams with a close victory.
Canada has been historically garbage on the road although there have been improvements there. Canada hasn't lost at BMO Field since 2010 against Peru. The USMNT couldn't win at BMO either, so the team plays well at home. Hoping to see you in the Hex
Still does not change the fact that there is more pressure on Canada than on the USA heading into this game. We shall see if they can flourish under pressure but I will remain skeptical until I see them do what they have to do.
If USA follows up not qualifying for the World Cup by not winning a group in which no other team has reached one of the last five Hexagonals, it will be disappointing and maybe embarrassing. A team who expects to qualify for every World Cup with a 50-50 chance at reaching the Round of 16 should be able to get draws at teams at the level of Trinidad and Tobago and Canada.
Then there's the original Captain James T. Kirk, who was born and raised in the English quarter of Montreal.
Considering the massive number of comedians, actors and to a lesser extent, musicians who have come out of Canada (seriously, the comedian per capita of Canada is insane), the cross section this forum chooses to highlight is illuminating.
In 2015 Canada managed two ties in Central America (one against Belize, one against El Salvador). That is rare, the Canadian team normally wilts in the torrid Central American stadiums. But it may indicate some progress, because I feel the barrier is mainly a psychological thing. On the other hand, there's the loss to the Guanacos in Houston (0-1) a couple of years ago. So I'm not sure the Central Americans are not still Canada's kryptonite.
RUSH more than makes up for them though. A recent Tweet, and copyright infringement should be enough to revoke their passports..... Not to mention that Our Lady Peace & Theory of a Deadman are way better.
Holy cow. Bieber is Canadian, had to google that. Still miles better than nickelback. You people (intended snark for posting flare) usually produce such quality entertainers, hockey players, and curling legends. How did Nickelback happen anyways. I get it that it takes all kinds and such but when I come into someone’s house for the first time I look at their book case, open their fridge, and browse any music displayed (though this is getting rare unless I am visiting hipsters) I have never seen in the wild NB paraphernalia. I don’t judge based on what I see, just find it interesting to compare tastes with personalities. However, and this has never happened, if I found a non-ironic Nickelback tape/cd/poster I am not sure what that would Mean. Thoughts?
Their first album was released in 1996, their second album was released in 2000, and their third album, "Silver Side Up," was released on an infamous day, 9/11/2001. It had the song "How You Remind Me." When naming Canadian musicians, one of the most famous is Alanis Morissette. Other Canadian musicians I know of are LEN, Chantal Kreviazuk, and Matthew Good Band. The names Morissette (one "r" and two "s" when it is normally the opposite) and Kreviazuk could make a musician name spelling test.
When do the ponds freeze these days anyway? Is it different due climate change? Not much to look at in comparison of player quality for our two teams. I'd say they are about the same. It's down to how you play 'em. Ofc Canada is a relatively inexperienced team. The good news for you is that we are also inexperienced in terms of age and our manager's international coaching experience.
