Always, no? Sure, there are black people who are fervent Protestants. but the white version of that belief isn't about to share the same label with colored folk. Right? Help out a Yankee here.
One of my favorite factoids from the 2016 Republican nomination fight is that Trump's core was self-identified evangelicals who rarely go to church. One thing people like you (i.e., heathens and Yankees) probably don't know about is the phenomenon of the evangelical non-denominational megachurch. At least around here, they're pretty integrated. And young (probably a related facet.) I suspect that's the case in all Southern cities.
Although only 5% of people know what the claim is. (I am among the 95%, not a ********ing clue.) Which illustrates that every Republican will say Yes if asked if a Democrat committed a crime that they know nothing about, but not every Democrat will automatically stand up and defend somebody in the party, without knowing more about the issue. I call that a good trait, although it does sometimes get in the way of winning elections.
Talk about privilege when two people who didn’t even qualify for security clearances are prancing in the White House with no expertise in anything!— Hardin (@hcextrak) October 4, 2019
Yeah, I know: Moving Pompeo and Barr closer to the Oval Office seems like a weird priority for Dems right now. But if the goal is removing Trump - and it should be - then it's the right move.— Jonathan Bernstein (@jbview) October 4, 2019
Seriously, if everyone has such a serious objection to Not-so-Nervous Nancy taking over when Pence and Trump go to jail, all she has to do is appoint Hillary as her VP, and then resign herself. I'm sure all the haters would be OK with that, right?
Wow, that is one of the dumbest things I have read in a while...and that is saying something. From the article: A Republican wouldn’t have to be paranoid to imagine the Democrats trying to maneuver past Pence, especially now that Pence’s name has come up as a possible character in the drama at the heart of the impeachment inquiry — the effort to press the president of Ukraine to dig up dirt on Trump’s leading Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden. It is not a maneuver, it is an investigation about criminality. As long as Pelosi remains in the line of succession and control of the White House is even potentially at stake, Republicans will have an incentive to fight back against a legitimate investigation of Pence’s potential role in the Ukraine scandal. This is so stupid, it is hard to fathom. I understand his point, but his point is just dumb.
Yeah, how do those rumors spread to the MSM? Puzzled...[emoji848] Here for the replies but I’ll also make two points: 1) Warren’s aggressive pushback and owning of the story stands in pretty stark contrast and 2) maybe journalists should use their platforms to debunk misinformation instead of promoting it while marveling at how it spreads— Adam Jentleson (@AJentleson) October 8, 2019
If you dont think the women running for President have it harder, consider the last 24 hrs. People are questioning if Warren was fired for being pregnant because it wasnt admitted on official records and Harris is being asked about misconduct at a law firm where she never worked.— Brian Fallon (@brianefallon) October 8, 2019
Real Clear is rated right of center as far as I know, and Forbes magazine (a business right of center magazine) is majority owner. From the article, Disclosure is the bigger problem, they should say they are related to each other.
I know they're right of center. You know they are right of center. The point was that many journalists still cite them as though they are the center.
Quite a few of us watched this happen this weekend with more credible journalists amplifying it and asking how it would be covered instead of being critical of the assertions. 1181914375973752833 is not a valid tweet id
Sure, like other sites that are rated left of center (this thread would disagree with those ratings). They are part of the fact checking crowd and they do a great job at it. But they do go after Democrats more often than other fact checkers, that is their bias, and as long as they do it correctly (don't get it wrong too much) they will be rightfully sourced by the media. Just like wall Street journal or Forbes or to a lesser degree the national review.
yada yada yada, we're making sweet money, so we'll let it run until we don't make money.. Here's the letter Facebook sent the @JoeBiden campaign explaining why it allowed Trump to run Facebook ads with false allegations about the VP and Ukraine -- @sarahmucha reports. https://t.co/HFMdDqpzXH pic.twitter.com/VbUlW2C6qI— Donie O'Sullivan (@donie) October 9, 2019
If we need a very short term National Unity administration I nominate James Earl Carter III. The man would go on Mt. Rushmore.
538 on how the idea of media news bubble may be exaggerated. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/media-bubbles-arent-the-biggest-reason-were-partisans/ Here is the study about social media. https://www.dartmouth.edu/~nyhan/fake-news-2016.pdf
It may as well go here too @ewarren looks like broadcast stations across the country have aired this ad nearly 1,000 times, as required by law. FCC doesn’t want broadcast companies censoring candidates’ speech. We agree it’s better to let voters—not companies—decide. #FCC #candidateuse https://t.co/WlWePjh1vZ— Meta Newsroom (@MetaNewsroom) October 12, 2019
The viewership metrics were inflated by 150 to 900%. Whole companies shifted their strategy to video. Companies going bankrupt, people losing jobs, FB gets away with 0.18% of annual income ($40M / $22B), a slap on the wrist. https://t.co/6Gdw2eRY7a— Scott Galloway (@profgalloway) October 13, 2019
I thought this was interesting. My former employer CollegeHumor did this. In order to beat YouTube, Facebook faked incredible viewership numbers, so CH pivoted to FB. So did Funny or Die, many others. The result: A once-thriving online comedy industry was decimated. A $40m fine is laughable; shut Facebook down. https://t.co/iYejU0EGqp— Adam Conover (@adamconover) October 13, 2019
So perhaps the number of people actually watching the Trump adds on Facebook are 150% to 900% exaggerated.
