Yes, $600K in the bank rather that $600K in debt.

A reminder that FCD still had two more option years on his contract anyway.

So Pax just multiplied his salary by 6, and can still be sold in any transfer window if he plays well.

In reality, all that's changed here is that Pax gets a hell of a lot more money in his paycheck.

FCD protected itself from a free transfer, and has set itself up for another nice payday.

A number that's not an insult to FCD but also able to get him to any mid budget team in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, or wherever. It also serves as a low investment to a foreign club but allows FCD to demand a big sell on fee like they got with Richards. Pax is represented by Wasserman who are beginning to grow a reputation of getting kids abroad to good teams.

Maybe they can get up to $6m like Gruezo but Pax doesn't have to be a Davies type home run in order for FCD to feel good about the sale (thus being willing to do it), especially if Ferreira, Servania, Roberts, and hopefully Tessmann take up his mantle.

the money is good for him. just like it was for dempsey, bradley and altidore. so make sure youre making the same arguments in terms of competition level now you were then.

my feeling is fine, i guess. as mentioned everyone benefits if hes sold in the next year or two.

the huge, HUGE problem is if fcd, or mls, put a ridiculous price tag on him and hes stuck. there just no way to know how fine-bad this is (cause thats the range).

all that said, berhalter sees him as a winger and/or behind freaking trapp, roldan and yueill at the very least so it doesnt really matter for another three years. hopefully, three years, i should say- has berhalter earned his klinsmann-stension yet?

The fact that they are willing to pay early instead of playing hardball is another recruiting tool I have to imagine.

The next academy kid can point to PP when he's arguing about turning down a scholarship offer or spending too much time kicking a ball.

That's enough money that he can put the college tuition into something with a reliable return and have it ready.

I also hope it's enough to turn the heads of fine kids who might have been thinking of switching to football or basketball. PP and Tyler Adams are showing that you can be one good MLS season away from millions.

I know I said this in other threads already. The FCD GM used to hold the same position at Gremio and Santos. He knows how this transfer game to Europe is played. He's the guy who had to work out the Neymar transfer.

He sold Chris Richards in the off-season on a very favorable deal to FCD. I think he got about the maximum fee he could get for Carlos Gruezo. There's no actual evidence that the FCD GM won't sell Pax when a reasonable transfer bid comes in. None whatsoever. As far as we know, no formal transfer bid has ever been received for Pax. So there's been no decision to actually make for the FCD front office.

FCD is setting themselves up as a developmental club. That doesn't mean they want to be a conveyor belt for free transfers to Europe. That doesn't make any sense. They have to maximize the profits from these player sales. FCD isn't some sort of charity or halfway house for kids on the way to Europe.

Totally agree. Those that think this means that Paxton is staying with Dallas are wrong. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was in Europe this January. All this does is protect Paxton financially and allow Dallas to get something when he transfers.

Well, shit. Even if he can rehab and come back healthy for the long term he's running out of time to make his way into the USMNT this cycle. He'll have to start next season absolutely on fire to have a shot.

Yeah, of all the years to skip this isn't a bad choice.

Still, not good, this was supposed to be his year.:(

After Mckennie and Adam, the field is wide open. He may still be able to make it but he would have to hit the ground running.

I can usually get a good enough idea of injuries suffered but I have no clue at all what is bothering Pomykal. Anybody know?

This is from October. Maybe he's still having a problem? They use to just call all these core injuries sports hernia's and Dr. Meyers is pretty much the leading doctor in the US for treating core muscle problems.

It's still adverse affects from his last injury. Hip is still bothering him.

Hopefully another surgery and recovery can clean it up. If he's back to play in Early 2021 and healthy, it will be worth it.

I wrote on another thread he’s quickly becoming NLS’s version of Tataguie. Both very talented. If they play. Maybe both will within 6-9 months and the rest of the team can stay mostly healthy before and during qualifying and WC. That alone would be an immense improvement.
