https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/reason-liverpool-gave-up-christian-13802318 https://talksport.com/football/4078...orussia-dortmund-wonderkid-christian-pulisic/ Liverpool were definitely in on trying to sign him but for that price he was not worth it to them when Chelsea paid so much.
I know I tend to be curmudgeonly in RL, but in regards to CP, I am all rainbows and unicorns. Few players can play in every fixture, especially when it comes to forwards and midfielders, and CP will get his chances. I think the wild card in the equation is RLC. I don't know his game but he has a rep as being pretty good. If he takes Mount's spot, then Mount begins to compete on the wings for minutes too. I think ultimately CP will prove to be a better player than Frank Jr. I do not think CP can do what Willian is doing now, but even Willian is not likely to keep up his current level all season. It would help immensely if Frank can get a healthy Kante and Rudiger back and get the defense sorted. That would allow for even more attacker minutes.
Agreed. Pulisic is not this type of winger/attacker. If that is what Lamp absolutely demand, then CP needs to get out of town fast.
Report: Chelsea linked with $230 million move for Neymar https://sports.yahoo.com/report-chelsea-linked-230-million-115337440.html
He would get broken in the PL. That move would be an unmitigated disaster. In which case I'm all for it.
He might already be broken. Why would they move Kante anyways? That would be stupid. They need to invest in defense.
I don't think Frank is obligated in any way to be "fair" to CP. So I don't think it's been fair, we agree on that much. However, calls for a loan are just silly. That's never going to be a logical point right now, for a young player who cost a lot and has, what, 4 assists? And is growing into his role within the squad.
He is still a fantastic talent... but considering health, off-the-field drama, cost in dollars and in lost players for said cost it just doesn't make much sense to me. Again, they should be investing heavily on the D side of the ball... they are already scoring enough goals and they could keep this youthful front line together for years. Just add D.
Liverpool has proven that works. I mean they play fine defense of course, but the only world class defender they have is VVD (and of course he might be the best in the world), but Arnold-Alexander and Robertson are both amazing ATTACKING players from the fullback position, while above average defenders, while Matip or whomever the line up next to VVD is not anything close to a world class, like the attackers on that team. Actually it's even true of the midfield. Having 3 of the 10 best attacking talents on the planet in Mane, Salah and Firmino, means you can have not great midfielders (Gini, Henderson, Fabinho are all good to very good, and none of them world class), and still be a world class team.
If Fabinho and Robertson and Alisson aren't world class, how many holding mids, left backs, and keepers in the world qualify for that label? Trent and Robbo, name me a better fullback pair in the world in terms of the totality of the tactical roles they play. Whatever that list looks like, it cannot be a long one, surely. Anyways... this is in response to Chelsea signing Neymar, right? Which is silly.
Yup. Liverpool may not have the best D in the world... but it is still elite IMO. They have the world's best CB and Alexander and Robertson are far above average w/ respect to their D prowess (they are arguably the best back duo attacking-wise).
Neymar's upside scenario is still best player in the Premiership. That alone could make the move worthwhile. Of course, crowding out young attacking talent, some of which is still cheap, and reducing dollars available to upgrade non-Kante midfielders and defenders may not be the smartest management move. But it sure is splashy.
The list of Brazilians flopping in the Premier is long and full of illustrious names. The Brazilians are technical, but also far too given to flaunting, to taking that extra step, to showboating with unneeded feints. In England, that gets you kicked, hard. And the ref will smile approvingly. It's a fundamental difference in the concept of what is proper footy between the two countries: for Brazilians, it's a spectacle; for the English, it's a duty. Neymar is one of the most fragile guys out there. That Chelsea is even considering to get him once the ban is over tells me at this point they're not caring much about soccer, they just need a way to circulate a lot of money, god knows why.
I think the idea that Chelsea is even considering it is a joke as well. Don Balon is ranked in Tier 5 of The False 9's Transfer Source Reliabilty Guide. Tier 5 means "Absolute Dick Heads. Why are you even reading them for ******** sake?"
Honestly. The joining of two dumpster fires seems a fitting Romance. A BROhamavic if you will. Neymar and the Russian can race Ferrari’s and consult with each other on the proper levels of impetulants for any given perceived slight. [emoji23]
Clarin (Argentina) and Ovacion (Uruguay) are Tier 1 too. But the people in that article seems to know mostly about England, little about the continent, and nothing about South America. The Sun is not Tier 4. The Sun is the definition of Tier 5.
