He had a big miss, but he did fine. He was involved in play, which is something he can rightfully get criticized for. Atleti is just solid defensively with one of the best keepers in the world. There are games to critique Bale on but I don't think this was one of them. Everyone in the XI minus Hazard and Thibaut did well in my opinion.
I disagree, but that’s just my opinion... Bale wasn’t horrible, but he wasn’t anything special at all either. We need game changing impact players in these big types of games, we are not getting that right now. We need guys to put the ball in the back of the net he had the perfect opportunity & blasted it a mile high over the goal...
I had to dig a little to find this thread, buts he’s been very good this season, so far. Easily one of the best players on this team right now.
The team is more solid, we are looking better as a unit, but we struggle when attacking, when we go forward the lack of creativity is annoying, these guys playing in the frontline have been ok but I personally can’t say any of them can be considered the best player on our team right now,
I think that assessment is a little generous but it’s commendable how he’s done considering what happened in the summer.
I always feel he is very good one half of the game and the other one he dissapears. I didnt watch the Granada game but it is something I noticed a few times already.
Exactly this. At this rate, must be subbed at 60 mins tops. Or earlier if having a bad game. But yeah, not a bad start from Gareth, injury-free and all.
Bale will hand in transfer request to leave Real Madrid next summer -report https://t.co/hee4pJU7rW pic.twitter.com/qxGcXbl7TK— Managing Madrid (@managingmadrid) October 8, 2019
it’s a crappy source, AS’ Guillem Balague, so I would take it with a grain of salt, especially since so much can happen throughout the rest of the season. The report mainly focuses on his exclusion from the squad against Brugge. It says Bale feels disrespected. This runs quite contrary to all the reports over the summer that were suggesting he wanted to stay no matter what.
Maybe him and the club found a solution where he stays with us for the season, plays well, and uses that to create a better situation for himself in terms of negotiating next summer. For as much as "nobody needs him!" as we've heard this summer, both Chelsea and Manchester United would improve by having him, especially since it seems like Chelsea aren't quite warming up on Pulisic.
It's from Balague. Enough said. Same guy who said RM will offer Jovic in Neymar deal a month after signing him. Even if club wants him out again next summer, Bale is likely to resist as him and family is well settled in Madrid and he has a great contract until 2022.
Bale has been one of our most played players. Highly doubt he wants to leave or is angry because of the reports that ZZ didn't choose him for Brugge game. As for next year, not like he was wanted this summer. He forced his stay so he is just doing ZZ a favor handing in a request. Highly doubt any of this is actually true though.
Its probable that Bale was annoyed at being left out of what should have been a rubber stamped stat padding game, and the result kind emphasizes the poor team performance which followed. So he's justified here without saying a word. I doubt this is enough to trigger a Bale meltdown and force out, not after everything else that happened. Having said that at some point Bale, James, Modric, Hazard, etc., someone is not getting picked for Classico and other big games. Already you can see Zidane struggling to keep James and Bale happy and that should be easy given their form, just play them.
Wish he had left a couple years ago, not a bad player but he has insisted on staying after his agent trashed the club in spite of the club being more than fair with him. The sooner this saga ends the better, the one positive would be him playing well, being motivated and we get a full season of staying healthy, playing good football out of him (he owes us more but that aside).
Leaving him out of the Champions League final two years running is one thing, but not playing him in a group game against Club Brugge... you crossed the line Zizou.
It seems to me Bale is being treated superbly by Zidane. He's even more of a starter than under Zidane's first stint. Typical non sense, quiet week.
