This stuff is all designed by someone at Fanatics. I'd imagine there is some kind of approval process, but I'm sure it goes to someone at the club, well above the team store management. The in store staff and management are all Fanatics employees now who transitioned from DCU to Fanatics when the new stadium opened. They have no input on what gets ordered or shows up. We used to spend a lot ... too much at the team store in RFK and knew all the guys working there and they'd ask me, my wife if we'd buy this item or not. I assume they talked to a lot of people who bought in there regularly. They did some really cool things for us. My son has a Hamid 28 GK jersey that they made when I brought in an adidas youth GK jersey and they said they could put a crest and sponsor on it for free.Sometimes we'd see the new sweatshirt or socks or t-shirt and sometimes we wouldn't. Now they say they have no idea what's going to show up. Boxes arrive and they put stuff out on the racks. My biggest gripe with the team store is that there is so much that doesn't come in kids sizes. My son wanted a Rooney all star jersey and an adult small is gigantic on him. He's between M & L in youth sizes and my daughter wanted the pride pre-game shirt because it had rainbows, but she's a 4T but gets away with a youth small in adidas.

The only jersey replicas left at the merchandise stands were Women or Youth Large.

5 consecutive cleansheets to end the season. I wanna say I read the club tied the MLS record for total minutes of not conceding.

Hamid with 14 cleansheets to end the season. Tied with Guzan.

    That's great!

. . . aaaaaaaaand, how many clean-sheets did our attack rack-up during that same timeframe?

Everything will be revamped. Rooney's gone. Acosta is as good as gone. Defense will need to re-built. New keeper.

IIRC - His loan agreement maybe up - We could buy his contract back again, but maybe not

Why will the defense need to be rebuilt? Jara's loan will be up, but it's not clear he will be recalled and he's not starting anyway. Mora is ours permanently, IIRC, and both Birnbaum and Brillant are staying, so far as I know. Sure, Hamid may want to get back to Europe but look how that worked out last time!

And, for what it's worth Canouse and at least one of Moreno or Felipe will be back. Sort of hate to say it out loud, but I'd like to have Felipe back next next.

I doubt Jara will come back if Olsen is retained as coach.

The team will need to re-sign Brilliant. His contract is up AFAIK.

I'm guessing Mora will be heading into his option years that the team will surely pick up.

I see no reason why the team won't try to get Hamid back here full time.

Not sure I'd keep Jara. He's like the Brad Guzan of defenders. Like he kicks ass 90% of the time, but he's got 2-3 bone headed or no hustle plays a game that are so counter to everything else he does.

Brilliant has been excellent since he got his starting job back last year, but he's going to suddenly be old at some point.

Mora is a classic lunch pail guy. He comes in does his job, no fan fare and oh how did we miss him when he broke his jaw.

Tough call on Hamid. What's his opportunity going to be back at Midtjylland where Hansen is now 34 and still going strong, with the team up 4 points against the 2nd place team, a third of the way through the Danish season. But lets face it, Hamid has solidly proved his worth being arguably the best keeper in MLS this year. They could put a price on him thats prohibitive to a league with salary cap restrictions like MLS. He should be attractive to mid-lower table teams in the big 5 leagues, any 2nd tier league in Europe. I can only remember 1 big mistake/howler all year and a team would have to look at him see a guy who can play another 4-5 years if his knee holds up. If he can get a solid opportunity to start, does he take it? This would have to be his last chance to make or break in Europe.

I like Jara, except that he so embraced his attacking role that he frequently wasn't able to track back. Moreover, he often looked winded late in a match.

I'm sure with the season he's had, it can go either way. He deserves a shot at returning to Europe. Still only 28 years old and not completely out of contention for some role with the NT.

Back to Black is the theme? Didnt end so well for Amy Winehouse, but this part of the song sums up DCU pretty well:

You went back to what you knew
So far removed from all that we went through
And I tread a troubled track
    My odds are stacked
    I'll go back to black
