Some of his texts seemed very...intentional to me. Like hes actively getting a paper trail because he thinks what going down is so corrupt. I never got the feeling he was even part way on board with things.
There's something I'm not sure about here. When we say 'whistle blower', dth has released the transcript of the call where he's pressurising Zelensky to do an investigation of Biden, himself. I mean, is it worth someone checking whether one of the 'whistle-blowers' hasn't got the initials, 'DT'? Y'know, it makes you wonder, doesn't it.
Yes The whistle blower has way too much info for it to be the work of one person. IMO multiple people have got together and then the whistle blower is a friendly staffer who carried the info - not someone who was directly involved Whistle Blower 2 is someone who works at the White House. It has to be someone who could have seen the contents of that call. I think there is a non-zero chance WB2 is John Bolton
The second WB is said to have first hand info on the call. That likely means he was one of the dozen of people who were on the call.
Someone appears to know what was happening at the Whitehouse end and at State This makes me wonder if the whistleblower is not the work of one person - he is only the person that bought the info Meanwhile we know Bolton hates the Russians and was fighting for the opposite agenda - then he got sacked. So I agree there are maybe 5 or 6 possibilities who were "on the call" once you remove Trump, Pompeo and the various henchman But the other possibility is that it is someone who had access to the secret server, who was not on the call.
If he had access to the server, that would be a major bonus. He could share the full transcript as well as the other ones stored there.
I don't think Bolton is a (or the) whistleblower, but, as vile as I think he is, I don't think he's down with using foreign policy as a scheme for making shit-tons of money.
That's why i suspect he is involved. His lifelong goal of nuking Iran cuts across all this because Iran is a Russian client I mean everything Trump has done has sold out US policy to Putin Syria, Iran, A'stan, Ukraine, NORKS - Trump has pulled down America's pants on all of them
What full transcript? From what I understand, it is standard practice to not have a word for word transcript of the President's conversations with foreign leaders. Rather the "transcripts" are recreated based on notes taken by the people that attended the meeting. It's also a practice that pre-dates Trump. From what I've seen in the news, the "transcript" that was released by the White House is as close to a full transcript as we are ever going to get.
I think they don't record them. They transcribe it roughly on the fly like you say. The other side may well have recorded it.
The point I was making is, from what I understand, what was released is as complete as you are going to get. Not because they are hiding anything, but because they simply do not create full transcripts.
Got that, but a first it is a memo, not the actual transcript. Secondly, a number of specialists have mentioned that it seemed awfully short for a 30 min convo. Finally, there was a number of ellipses, perhaps indicating that some parts were removed/edited.
I saw a comparison recently that compared the words per minute with other released transcripts of Trump's other conversations with leaders and the conversation with Zelensky had half the words per minute as some other conversations.
To be fair, I've read transcripts of Trump speaking, and if it's not cleaned up by someone, it will sound like complete incoherent gibberish.
Perhaps, but that doesn't mean it is available. From what I was reading when the "transcripts" first came out, the people taking the notes are "trained" to not include things in their notes that are of a certain sensitivity level or can be damaging to the President. Of course, with regards to the "damaging to the President" comment, the fact they included what they did include does make you wonder what could have been more damaging that they left out.
If I can get to a somewhat broader issue...classifying or upclassifying material because it's embarrassing, rather than sensitive, has waxed and waned as a problem in the post WW II era. I suspect it's waxing like a ************************ right now. Anyway, it's a problem; I'd rather politicians not do embarrassing things in the first place!
The problem with all this is the other side will have a recording they can use to blackmail the president
Who doesn't? I have a recording of the Donald stuffing his face with Big Macs after Melania told him to stop.
