Credit cards come with protections for such events. I know you will never change and part of me is glad for that
My biggest problem with the credit-only stands (besides my moral objection to the concept ) is that they are sooooooo much slower - cash moves the line so much faster. The $4 beer stand was like that, my wife was halfway done with her beer by the time they were ready for her to actually pay for it. They aren't improving anything by doing it, it's just because ......
Why aren't you just going to a beer guy? They've only ever got 2-3 people waiting for them. I do get a kick out of the signs encouraging you to use Apple Pay to shorten the line and I am thinking Apple Pay, credit or cash are not the things slowing the line down.
Question: Where are the $4 beers? And, speaking for myself, the reason I go to the beer stands instead of a roaming beer guy is that I much prefer draft beer to bottled beer.
I totally missed the $4 beers ... Never in a million years would have thought something like that existed in our new stadium. I am sorry ... what is that? I know the Caps do something like that. Nats did something like that. DC United used to do something like that. There's a decade's worth of DCU team pic posters pinned to the wall in the garage that stopped last year.
yeah, it was 12 oz beers, not the 16 oz - and just a few kinds, but she drinks Lite and they had those - but still the price was better She hates credit-only even worse than I do (just ask her if you can spare some time ) but $8 for 24oz is better than $13 for 16oz even if you have to wait longer between getting your beer and paying for it. The sign said Fan Appreciation .... but the guys working the stand had no idea what that meant outside of those specific beers. I think that's what the 40% off kids jerseys signs in the team store said too
That whole $4 beer stand blew my mind...the sign was so simple it almost looked like a parody 'Fan Appreciation $4 Beer". I walked by it and did a double take. On topic: Unverified but there are folks on #cf97 twitter feeds saying the new ownership is offering free 2020 season tics to their 97 original STHs as they move back to Soldier field.
I thought I saw fewer, but it's still a good move for an organization that has a lot of work to do to get fans to attend matches again.
