Remember back in the olden days when our jaws hit the floor because the wingnuts were convinced Hildawg was importing 30,000 guillotines for use in the FEMA camps?

Now we are living those times for real

Barr has to be impeached too. Not sure about Pompeo.

We are living in interesting times.

Good question. Maybe. But if so, surely we would issue the warning privately.

Apparently not the Dems, so far this Ukraine strategy seems to have done the most damage to their old guard front runner. No wonder Elizabeth Warren wants to focus the impeachment inquiry on the Ukraine.

More polls coming out showing Americans support an impeachment inquiry. Some are even showing a majority of people in favor of having the President removed from office. Republicans haven't come out en-masse against him yet. They must figure with 13 months to go before the next general election, there's plenty of time to get back in the good graces of the American public. The way Republican voters are, they might be absolutely right.

I heard Nikki Haley and Marco Rubio are polling better than any of the Democratic candidates for President, should the Republicans decide to rid themselves of the Trump-Pence orbit of idiocy. The question I have, is while Haley and Rubio would be more honest in their dealings with the people of this country, would their policies be any different than what we see now? I don't think for a minute either person, or some other 'clean' Republican would dismantle a fraction of the policies or rescind some of the executive orders President Trump has enacted.

We already have one wannabe authoritarian in office, we don't need another.

I think so. Maybe not dramatically, but they have an understanding of international relations and the complexities of multi-lateral agreements. So their rhetoric would be more consistent and their politics would likely be more restrained.

She stood up to the President and some of his aides in the White House when there were contradictory statements coming out of Washington compared to what she said at some United Nations sessions. She was a popular governor in a reliably conservative state. She's been out of the Trump orbit long enough that any stink she may have acquired from the experience has been easily washed off?

I'm just guessing. Since she's a Republican, I wouldn't vote for her...ever. Doesn't mean I'd automatically support a Democrat. I've seen enough of Republican politicians and their policies in my lifetime to know what I prefer and what I don't prefer.

If they replace Trump, he'll torpedo the nominee. What, nobody here is familiar with the despot playbook?

I'll repeat myself...99% chance he runs as an independent or takes over a 3rd party.

Assuming he's not prosecuted and staring a prison term in the face, I say let him do it. It would guarantee somebody with a more positive vision for the people of this country would get elected. Nothing wrong with that.

It would give the third party voters a name candidate, since he wouldn't be a... Republicrat anymore, or at least not running as either.

I heard that canard this AM on morning joe but I have not seen one poll supporting it. It felt like wishful thinking from Scarborough.

It will be so funny if some Liddle' party got behind him. I'd just pay to have cameras inside voting booths to see the faces of some ICs casting their votes for the "lesser of 3 evils", or something along those lines....

Yeah, that's where I heard it too. But I think Donnie Deutsch said it, not Joe. Either way, pretty depressing if it's true. Even a Democrat running for the 2020 nomination who's polling less than 5% has better ideas than any potential Republican, who would only be appealing because he or she is not Donald Trump.

Bill Weld may be the only Republican politician I would even consider voting for, but even if President Trump is on the Amtrak Sayonara Express back to Manhattan by the middle of next year, I highly doubt he'd be acceptable to rank and file conservatives.

With Barr after Oz and other countries to destroy US security findings that Russia interfered with our elections.
Then Trump trying to blackmail the Ukanian president into kissing up with Putin. (After Putin invaded his country)
All leads to trying to get sanctions lifted off Russia that were placed for both actions. The sancions that affect Russian economy.
Next up would be getting back into the 'G8' where Putin can mess about with European security once again.

    And that isn't Treason.

He'd do at least as well in the electoral college as Wallace did in 1968 when he won 45 vote. Wallace's slogan was "Stand up for America."

I don't think it is true either. The R brand is in disarray now and rightly so. Toadies like Rubio or Haley are not going to change that in the near future. Haley is a dangerous though. She presents well but she is a rabid right-winger.

He was starting to tank well before that.

And I'm pretty sure Warren (and others) want to focus the impeachment inquiry on Ukraine because that's the most obvious grounds for impeachment.

Well he is sunk now. And yeah, I am sure that is why Warren wants to focus on Ukraine despite right now there being no there there. Now, forgive me if I focus on other things until the next big impeachment bombshell drops and fails to explode.
