Remember that time Houston Dynamo Won MLS Cup in Frisco, TX? At the home stadium of their rival FC Dallas??? RB Arena would be a GREAT venue for the Final!! Particularly for all of us neutrals watching on TV...
Especially considering NYRB has never won a cup. Winning one in their home stadium before the actual home team even gets a shot at doing so is extra sweet. We still give Frisco flack for it.
Honestly a sold out final at Yankee Stadium sounds more impressive than a sellout at the Banc, where every match is a sellout anyway.

That press release only covers the Eastern Conference playoffs. Doesn't say anything about what they'd do for MLS Cup.
Does anybody know if they could fit a wider soccer field @ Citi Field than @ Yankees Stadium? Edit: From where they put the field for friendly games, the width isn't the problem the length is.
Oh, trust me, I've moved on. And I don't really care about NYCFC, so my skin is just fine at its current thickness. But if it happens it will still be an embarrassment for the league, unless MLS wants to come across as a Mickey Mouse league.
A massive, multi-billion dollar corporation that has created and/or currently owns many of the more iconic things in their industry. Daaaaaaamn. That's definitely something MLS should strive for.
"Nobody watches MLS Cup, have you seen the ratings? And American soccer fans - real ones, anyway - don't care about MLS at all. But if it plays out this way, it will be a major embarrassment, having to go through this in plain sight of all those non-people."
I don't mind that NYCFC plays in Yankee Stadium. It's the fact that they play on a crappy postage stamp of a field.
The real problem with Yankee Stadium is that they don't want to level the pitcher's mound, so the "near" sideline is really far away from the stands and at an odd angle. The best sideline seats are the outfield bleachers, which is weird, since it's only one level and the majority of the seats are in the main stadium with several tiers. If they moved the soccer field so that one sideline was roughly parallel to the 3B foul line and the other was in the outfield, they could have a nice wide field and there would be a lot more "good" seats in the whole stadium.
