It's usually the captain that holds it because he later goes to the kick off to exchange it with the opponent's captain.

I like this discussion because you can literally see who has ever competed in football and who has only watched it on TV.

You mean to say such clip could be found in nearly every football game in the world?

I don't know how often the captain gives it up and there is a miscommunication about it, but if it happened between Mainz - Gladbach last year, would you even hear about it?

Bale was just not sure what to do with it, he's not the captain.

There are many cases where the captain leaves the pitch and doesn't know who to give the armband to, let's interpret disrespect into those cases as well to make it spicy for clicks.

For the 3rd time. If he did not know what to do with it why did he pass it to Carvajal?

Just take the damn thing and pose.. that ins’t too much to ask

Carvajal is higher on the captain's list to Bale.

Ramos is at the back and holding it in three pics. Nonstory!

Don’t waste your time trying to convince me.
I see the video and it is clear to me Bale did not want to hold it..
Varane passing it to Bale looks to me like he was handing it to him for 1. for him to display it in the center of the photo and 2. for him to connect with the club... And Bale refused. It’s ok to be confused why he was receiving it but I think any other player there would have simply taken it. Is not like Varane told him with the look, here pass it to Dani.

To me this was funny but nothing else.. I care more what he does on the pitch not much how connected he feels or does not feel with club or how much respect he shows for the captains.

Not trying to convince you. Just clarified since you were like captain didn't
hold it at the back and that was totally made up argument as Ramos does it all the time. Your Bale narrative here is pretty clear.

Is not about why Varane is giving it to him (there could be many reasons) - you probably don’t even know for sure why he did.. but to me that is not the point so you correcting me on that or clarifying it was not to display the pennant is pointless.
This is more about why Bale refused to hold it.

Btw your tweets read “everyone is criticizing Bale” so obviously I am not the only one who shares the same view..

Well, then Varane didn't want to hold it either as he passed to Bale who then passed to Carva.

I know he didn’t and he was specifically handing it to Bale for him to hold it.

This is nothing. I'm pretty sure Bale was just like hell no, I know I'm not supposed to touch that shit.

Lol I like Bale more for how he was confused and handed it off to the player higher up the seniority.

    Exactly lol.

My man face was like "bruh what you doing.. that ain't mine!"

Oh and who finds it pathetic medias are trying to focus on this using Bale (who actually scored a legitimate goal) as a scapegoat while ignoring Lucas Vasquez who thinks it's smart for a guy 5 meters offsides to run back into the play where is striker is about to finish the lose ball for a goal?

The Spanish are off limits. Lucas, Asensio and Isco can underperform for years but let's bully an 18yo Brazilian.

The footage is extremely slowed down to make it seem like there was a thought process going on. Bale was just curious why he got it when it's the captain's duty to hold it and exchange it with the other team's captain.

As a reminder: Isco flat out refused to wear the captain's armband (as the legitimate captain), and nobody really cared about it.

I remember one game Pepe insisted that Kaka wear the armband. Being Captain isn't for everybody, I kind of get that vibe from both Benz and Varane as well as Bale.

Marcelo isn't an ideal Captain but he's got some intangibles going like an outgoing personality and good image.

Pretty rough game from Bale yesterday.

He’s pretty much a Jesus Navas style winger at this point just runs straight up & down the side lines & sends long crosses in.

This guy used to have one of the very best deadly long shot in the world I haven’t seen any of that in years not to mention his free kicks have gone down hill as well I can’t remember that last one he’s made...

Idk what to say, if he’s gonna start the big matches then he needs to play so much better. I’d rather use him as a super sub in the big matches at this point.
