Ben Sasse, Susan Collins, and Mitt Romney need to start a support group for "deeply troubled and concerned inverterbrate Republicans".
I'll just leave this here In 2014, Jonas Anshelm and Martin Hultman of Chalmers published a paper analyzing the language of a focus group of climate skeptics. The common themes in the group, they said, were striking: “for climate skeptics … it was not the environment that was threatened, it was a certain kind of modern industrial society built and dominated by their form of masculinity.” The connection has to do with a sense of group identity under threat, Hultman told me—an identity they perceive to be under threat from all sides. Besieged, as they see it, both by developing gender equality—Hultman pointed specifically to the shock some men felt at the #MeToo movement—and now climate activism’s challenge to their way of life, male reactionaries motivated by right-wing nationalism, anti-feminism, and climate denialism increasingly overlap, the three reactions feeding off of one another. “There is a package of values and behaviors connected to a form of masculinity that I call ‘industrial breadwinner masculinity.’ They see the world as separated between humans and nature. They believe humans are obliged to use nature and its resources to make products out of them. And they have a risk perception that nature will tolerate all types of waste. It’s a risk perception that doesn’t think of nature as vulnerable and as something that is possible to be destroyed. For them, economic growth is more important than the environment” Hultman told Deutsche Welle last year. https://newrepublic.com/article/154879/misogyny-climate-deniers

So a 16 year old is fully capable of understanding climate control, making arguments on an international scale on the topic, has complete control of her decisions, but if she has sex it is rape because she is incapable of arriving at such a decision? Pick a lane.
Inside baseball, related to Timon's post for a couple of pages back. Never mind, let's carry on about the Wharton valedictorian*. * Hey, that is what he said. Who am I to call Donald Trump a liar?
God help us all. You mean Ben Sasse...the Republican toadie for President Trump who voted to deny affordable healthcare for millions of Americans? Ben Sasse...who was fine with President Trump dropping out of the Iran Nuclear Agreement, which by all accounts, was working to all parties' satisfaction before the United States exited stage left? Ben Sasse...who didn't bat an eye over the United States pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord because like all Republicans say global warming doesn't exist? Ben Sasse...who had no problems about any hint of impropriety over the nominations of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh because the current wannabe President For Life nominated them? Ben Sasse, who supported the so-called Muslim ban as well as failing to offer any concrete solutions to curb the rise of domestic terrorism and a spike in hate crimes against the gay and transgender communities in this country? As far as I'm concerned, Senator Sasse can sequester himself in the nearest Omaha landfill and stay there. As President, he may be a hundred times more transparent than the Oval Office oaf we have now, but his policies will be just as backward and negative as what we see whenever Republican administrations are in power.

Remember that time Bill Clinton talked to the AG in an airplane. Not saying that was right but.... I wonder what Barr's son-in-law has been doing in his amorphous White House "legal advisor" role these past few months 🤔 https://t.co/Hyux1fKWVR— Sarah Kendzior (@sarahkendzior) September 26, 2019
Pelosi is good at counting votes in her caucus, and wouldn’t be taking this step if that number wasn’t very close to, if not already larger than, 218.
You know, I gotta tell you, this was not my pick in the “If 16-year-olds can influence public policy, why can’t we ******** ‘em” pool.
Just a reminder that Sasse’s (and Flake’s and Collins’, et al) biggest problem with Donald Trump is that Donald Trump says the quiet part out loud.
Mooch the voice of reason. And please let it be Miller. Reporters should be camped out at major DC defense attorneys offices to see who comes & goes.
I would be shocked if it was Miller in any capacity. I think Trump works more for him than vice versa.
As I wrote, I lobbed an off topic hand grenade. Never mind that now, I will go there later and elsewhere.
