Ummmm… huh? The idea of seeing a team that just won the World Cup is unattractive because it might make money?
So I have the US Soccer presales code. Anyone know if it's generic or individual specific? I.e. can I spread it around to my daughters team instead of waiting until Friday for group tickets?
I think the gripe is—and I see the point and agree with it to an extent—that USSF sets up these “Victory Tours” or whatnot against usually less-than-competitive sides like Ireland (no offense to Irish readers) most probably to help fill USSF coffers. I don’t recall France or Germany playing friendlies around their respective nations after the 2014 or 2018 Men’s WC’s. And our rosters for these friendlies—based on the recent Ireland friendly—are made up not of up-and-coming youngsters to see how they measure up, but of the aging stars that played in the WC. Why trot out Abby Wambach in the friendlies post 2015 WC apart from the draw of her “star power?” It’s nothing but a money grab. (But I’ll probably take my daughter on Nov 7 anyway, so there’s that.)
Well, the men's national teams actually have leagues to play in that they take seriously. That says more about the state of women's club soccer in this country. Either way, that wouldn't affect my desire or lack thereof to watch them play. Two different thoughts: The USWNT could do more to prepare themselves for the upcoming tournaments or promote the league than playing meaningless friendlies that make money, AND I'm still excited at the idea of watching the defending World Champions in my town. They're not exclusive to each other.
And they just sold two tickets, easy-peasy. @KCbus also brings up an excellent point. It would make much, much more sense to actually develop the younger players by having them play in an actual league, but it's obvious that USSF wants them as full-time USWNT with the league being more of a secondary job. Why not release them directly to their club teams after the celebration in NYC? Because $$$$.
Can the early presale people share ticket prices with the rest of us? Looking at the Soldier Field USWNT game coming up in a few weeks, prices are sky high, but they are still selling like hotcakes. (The number of $100 lower level midfield tickets that have already sold is insane.) If I go, it'll definitely be the cheap endline seats. Or whichever of these 28 different pricing levels turns out to be cheapest. Did they really need 28 different pricing levels?
Holy crap, what a lot of levels! Why didn’t they just list the price for each individual seat?[emoji849]

U$$F Glory Money Grab. *Insert Jim Smith reference here.* 28 price levels is shocking...but not really. I wonder how many of those "rows 2-9" people have tickets for those rows vs how many are mooching. I'm fairly sure I've seen MLB stadiums with fewer price tiers.
$35-50 on the sidelines (like 122 out) and end caps and $70-80 more toward the middle (like 123/124). There is "dynamic pricing", so hard to say. I did not buy.
these are all middle to back end of the section North End green - $35 North end Red - $40 Purple - $50 That's as far as I went and priority pre-sale didn't have upper deck available. My boss tried today with the Crew pre-sale code and said there was very little available in lower sections. He did get some lower sideline (light blue or purple first row?) for $125 a piece or so.
Difficult to know how many tickets they're holding back in the presale (obviously the whole west side upper deck, but there may be blocks in the lower level too), but it appears as if tickets are moving at a brisk pace.
yeah, it ends at 8am if you want to buy tickets early, you've only got a few hours left This was the Crew season ticket member presale, but it was also multiple presales all rolled into one. I wound up getting 3 different presale codes emailed to me for this timeframe. According to this, there's a Visa presale tomorrow, followed by the general onsale on Thursday:
So where are people getting the code? Or are they only giving to 2020 STMs and not 2019? Edit...I do have one code via the USSF mailing list.
US Soccer VIP was Monday at 10:00 US Soccer Premium Insiders was Monday at noon US Soccer (regular) Insiders pre-sale and crew season ticket holder presale were both Tuesday at 10:00 Edit* just saw Cleazer beat me to it. Also, group sales start on Friday, but I'm guessing there won't be much in the way of 20+ seats together by that time
Hope you all got your tickets, because it looks like all that's left are platinum seats and singles. And even the singles are selling fast. (Unless they decide to add bleachers to either the south end or the stage, which, considering how fast these tickets sold, might be something they seriously consider.)
